The greatest thing I learned is recruiters lie. Is there one out there that doesn't?

I was looking at jobs through a staffing agency, and had two interviews for a customer service position. The staffing agency called me with a job offer, and said, they like you so much, they are creating a position for you, with plans of promoting you to management in a year or so. I was thrilled, and gave my 2 week notice. When I went to the company, I was offered an accounting job, which had been posted for a long time. No mention of any future in management. I was told the pay would be less than what I was told for the customer service position, and would have a lot more responsibilities. I have never worked with a staffing agency before. Is this common to have a bait and switch??

I have been looking for new job since August in social work. I have been to many interviews but can't pass the new DCS background checks. I decided to go a different path and try for an HR position or recruiter. I have 1 Year experience as an employment consultant. I registered with a staffing agency and while I was there, I was "interviewed" and told about a staffing position at a factory, 2ND shift, working for the staffing agency, not the factory. I was interested and my resume was passed on. After a phone interview where I answered 6 questions, I was asked to come meet the team, and probably negotiate hourly wage(when asked what my expectations were, I stated I am willing to negotiate). I was told, before they make an offer, they would like to meet with me. So my question is, what can I expect in this meeting? Are they planning on hiring me for sure? And they just want to get my pay established? Or am I still being interviewed? I was told I possess Alot of the skills they are looking for. I agreed to the days and shift. I understand the position. So...are they still sizing me up? Am I missing something? I am great at interviews....but I don't want to miss anything. Any and all responses welcome. Thank you.

When I worked at #GatewayGroupPersonnel I gave great advice when

TBH They are ok to deal with professional and will find you work. However, I think they don't fight hard enough the the people that they do employ and they are very poor about finding you more work after completing an assignment.
