I worked thru a temp agency for 6 months at poverty wages before I finally got hired by the company I temped for. And I'd like to share the "3 P's" with all of you that really helped me get hired:

  1. PATIENCE: gotta have it. Getting frustrated or anxious about being hired doesn't help to maintain a positive attitude.
  2. PERSEVERANCE: sticking to your goals (i.e. good performance, being there and on-time) while waiting for the job you want gives you a much better chance of getting that job.
  3. PERSISTENCE: check with your supervisor and co-workers frequently about possible job openings and that you're looking to get hired on, since they're the ones who actually see what kind of worker and person you are. The 3 P' s can also apply to those who are job seeking. Remember that YOU have the responsibility of making yourself shine and to be the best above the rest!

These temp service's are trash most of them I should say. I think I've encountered just about every staffing service they sale you on the fact that this job is a great fit & it's a temp to hire position & all right. But the fact is that your just a casualty of war let's just say they low ball you with the pay. Like you don't know your yrs of experience & knowledge these companies are using nothing but temporary service's it's cheaper smh. I've seen ppl work for these temp service's for yrs & the company hasn't had a thought of bring them on fulltime employee bases. But to everybody that's out still making the push everyday continue to do so god knows there are ppl here with hearts of gold pray for me as I will continue to pray for you much love

I have been working at the same automotive manufacturer for the last 5 years (including subsidiaries). But even though I work about 50 hours a week, I am still classified as TEMP. Despite working the same position for the last year and a half, I am only getting half the pay and NONE of the benefits of my co-workers.

Hello. I am currently working as an Administrative Assistant and my temporary assignment is going to end on Friday. I need to have another job lined up so that I can continue sharing my skills and experiences with a company in need of help. It may be a challenge getting hired in a matter of 4 days, but I have faith in God that someone will see this and call me up!

All these "recruiters" call and then don't reply back to you... I don't understand the online application process. No one ever call you... I am signed up with a Temp Agency and whenever I call to get a status of a position, all they'll say is I got your resume sent out... Are they not allowed to call employers anymore to get an update??

The last time I had peace of mind at work whas in 2007 to through 2009. This warehouse is a cold storage temperature controlled business. I started as a temp, got hurt before I whas hired permanently. When I returned to work after being disabled, little did I know they were planning to get rid of me. Supposedly due to seniority? Now when I go to an interview with any company (direct hire) they never call me back. The only alternative since then has been temporary, or seasonal work. My bad credit doesn't help either, since most employers don't trust anybody with this situation. Now I feel helpless not knowing what to do? I don't know many influential professional refrences to turn to.I recently signed up with a credit law firm to improve my credit woes. Now I need a job to keep up with the 100$ monthly fee for the service. Can anybody help?

I am currently self employed and have been working as a contract worker for a Global Insurance Company and for BlueShield of CA. I am interested in doing some temporary job positions. In addition to compliance, I also have an accounting background, customer service, network management. My income has been $100,000 + for the last two years. I think I am more interested in temporary positions rather than a permanent position. I am interested to find out how we may be able to help each other.
