Hello, I am new to Jobcase and I have been receiving recommendations from people. I am not sure how to contact them individually to say thanks, so I wanted to do it this way. Thank you all so much for sending me job recommendations, I really appreciate it!

I sent a thank you to everyone else but missed your job suggestion!

I want to thank all that sent me leads to a few positions. Jeff L. I applied to the Project Manager's job at ERT. I had an interview and I guess I wasn't a good fit. The interesting thing has I thought the interview went well. Maybe my essay wasn't good. I even sent an email to the woman in HR to maybe find out where I fell short in hopes of some insight. I didn't get a response back. I realize they don't have to do that but since I did reach out I thought she would show an act of goodwill. Nonetheless, I will prevail. I won't let it get me down because He has my back.

I would just like to extend a BIG thank you to everyone who has sent me available job opportunities and openings, they were all very much appreciated.

Hey, just a short introduction. My name is David, and I'm 28 years old. I have known what I've wanted to be since Christmas morning of 1996. I saw Mario 64 for the first time on the new Nintendo 64 my brother and I had just unwrapped. I saw Mario in 3D for the first time ever... and it blew my mind. I asked my mom the following. "How did they do that? And, how can I do it, too?" The following year, my mom and dad put me in art school. The rest is history.
Fast forward to 3 weeks ago. 28 years old, graduated at 19 with a B.A. in Computer Animation.. 3 Triple A game titles under my belt, and a resume that could conquer Mt. Everest. BUT....
All I have ever wanted to do, was work for Booz Allen Hamilton... The name alone is house hold... Especially in my field, Booz Allen Hamilton on your resume means you can work anywhere. I've applied there 4 times and despite my impressive credentials for someone my age from NASA, to EA, to SAIC-- I've NEVER gotten a response... Until 3 weeks ago. I applied for a 3D Modeling position and about 2 to 3 weeks later... I get a response. I get the phone interview.. goes great... Then, I get an art test in my email... A test meant to test your creativity, knowledge and method of execution. I immediately feel intimidated. I start making excuses to myself as to why I couldn't do it.."Not enough time" "I'm not good enough" "Too many other applicants, why even try?"-- you name it, I tried it. I had only 5 days to complete it, all the while working my current 3D modeling job. Get this... I made excuses for THREE DAYS... Telling myself I shouldn't even try... Although I was still doing my current projects for my current job which were very time consuming). But then... the night of the 3rd day.. I couldn't stomach it anymore. The thought of... "What if????"... "What if I got it...?" occupied my mind more than any other thought. SO I got up at 5:50 AM.. Sat down at my computer, and spent 19 hours working on this 3D game model... start to finish, and turned it in..
I waited... The same day I turn in the art test, I get an email at 10:35 PM. "David, I just heard back from the Animation team, can you come in next week for an interview?" I have never slept with a smile on my face... But that night, I did. So, I go to the interview, aced it... and 3 days later they called with an offer $10k higher than my asking salary, as a Senior Consultant (Title: 3D Modeler). I start my dream job on 9/11/2017 with the most creative team of people I could ever imagine working with.
I'm posting this because I see a lot of VERY helpful info, but I rarely see "thank you" posts. I have been reading posts from this community for a LONG time... I have learned a lot here, and I swear to you all, the interview tips I got from this board helped me along the way more than I could put into words. Even the people who just comment... The tips, and wisdom I have gotten from Jobcase had a direct impact on my interviewing process with my last two jobs, including this one.
I thought it was only right to come back and say thank you. To all of you.
Sincerely, David M.
P.S. NEVER... EVER.. doubt yourself. No matter how high that climb may look-- you are stronger than you think, more talented than you can imagine. You'd be surprised how often you can prove yourself wrong in the face of doubt. Much love. Peace.

I went to open interviews on Wednesday and I think my interview went really well. Now, I'm in the waiting game. The manager who conducted the interview is off today, but she will be working tomorrow. In the meantime, I have written a couple of thank you cards. One for the person who told me about the open interviews, which I hand delivered today, and another for the manager that conducted the interview that I will deliver tomorrow.

Thanks to all for the job ideas. I no longer live in CO but southern NJ near the BEACH! I have been on six interviews but sadly did not get any of the jobs. All gave me great feedback. However, often in NJ you need an "in." One principle even told me that the Director of Special Education had someone picked out. Another , after a group interview said, "Well ,we RIFed ( reduction in force) three people last year so they get first pick. The districts are required by law to interview and publicly post the job. I am an amazing special ed. teacher with over ten years experience . That too is working against me. When I look at the Board meeting minutes they ALWAYS hire someone with little or no experience ( they don't cost as much as me!) So frustrating! I will not give up because I know this is my calling and that there is a child out there that is waiting for me to help them. Again ,thanks to all for your support. I share the frustration of "older workers" that are not valued in this country. For eight years , I watched as new teacher after new teacher was hired and then left the next year! Could not handle the job! They finally hired a "mature" woman and she is excellent . Still there after three years of really hard work. Anyone else out there feeling this way?

So many forget a simple 'Thank You' goes a long way. What do you do after the job interview? What CAN you do? You need to make yourself stand out as much as possible in a positive manner, and the thank you note is the key to doing so. As soon as you are able to, write down everything you can remember about the interview. Later on, you’ll want to review you notes in order to prepare yourself for writing an interview thank you let. Why Write a Thank You Note? A thank you note allows you to really stand out from the rest of the applicants. Not everyone actually sends a thank you note because they don’t think it’s important or aren’t even aware of it. By writing a thank you letter to the interviewer, you make them take a second look, and you are able to direct where they look. Emphasize Your Strengths and Play Down Your weaknesses Take this opportunity to mention how you fit the company’s needs again. Review your notes and focus on what the interviewer focused on. Also, improve upon one of your responses if you felt any of them were lacking. Simply explain that you had time to rethink your answer and would like to expand upon you previous response. Format Email or physical mail? Generally, you should email it because you can’t be sure exactly how long the hiring process will take, and you want to make a good impression before the interviewer has a chance to forget about you. Just because it’s an email doesn’t mean you can write it sloppily though. Write the letter in the body of your email following standard letter format. Open by thanking them for the interview. The highlight your qualifications, address weaknesses, and improve upon your responses in the second and third paragraphs, and final, close the letter with another display f gratitude combined with when you plan on following up. All in all, it shouldn’t be longer then a page in length. Once you’ve had it proofread by a few people, send it off within 24 hours of your interview.
So, let us not to say thank you, ... even if you don't get the job. The person will remember YOU.
