I drive safe and when I see people on the road doing these things it just pisses me off. Let's ALL be safe out there and use our heads.
1- Driving under bridges that are too low Just because you THINK you can make it doesn’t mean you can! Read the clearance signs people! I have seen guys take out the tops of their trucks before. What a mess.
2- Skipping your walk around Don’t get lazy! Check your damn tire pressure and your lines. PERIOD.
3- Not strapping down the load right Yup this happens a lot. Before you take off make doubly sure that things are nice and tight so you don’t lose the damn load or kill somebody.
4- Not checking cargo Plain and simple KNOW what you are hauling. So unless the government says don't look, you LOOK. Don’t get caught hauling things you shouldn’t be, end of story.
5- Not using your mirrors Why....why do drivers do this?!! If you back up use the damn mirrors. I mean WHY wouldn’t you?! Just looking aint going to get it done am I right?
Anyone agree with me here on these or see em happen?

My truck broke down last week and the supervisor shows up and tells me it’s MY fault because I did not do a good enough pre-trip. What happened was my other idiot supervisor strapped down a tire onto the catwalk and the strap broke, wrapped around my driveline and then tore up all my airlines. I told her it wasn’t me that did that. She then FLIPS out on me gets in my face and says that she doesn't need my attitude WHAT?!!!. The whole time I tried to get her to calm down but she wouldn’t. Guess I made her look bad. I told my boss about it and basically he said that I might be fired because I screamed at her and refused to listen. I did NOT scream. What the hell am I going to do now? Can he actually fire me over something that was not my fault??! Help!!!!

So my new dispatcher is a real pain in my ass. Last week I get my load assignment but the delivery time was nearly impossible to make. I would literally need perfect weather and road conditions to be able to make the deadline not to mention drive non-stop without at least one fuel stop and a bathroom break. It just wasn't possible and I ended up looking like the jerk who couldn’t handle things. This isn’t the first time this has happened. What do I tell this dispatcher? I am sick of this!!!

Saw this post on Facebook or somewhere and saved it because it's SO true and sharing it with this group.
1- Cover your ass. Take pictures, get it in writing, scale everything, get a dashcam and run it all the time.
2- NEVER trust a dispatcher.
3- Never enter any place you don't know how to get out of. Throw the brake, set the 4 ways and walk yourself in. always make sure you can get out.
4-. Don't screw over the next guy. Leave the truck clean, get out of the fuel island, fix the incorrect directions/address, don't leave trash, etc.
5- Get out and look/don't hit anything.
6- We are all truckers and in this together. Help a brother/sister out. Let them merge, explain how to get places, help them back, etc.
7- Thou Shalt Not Lease.
8- Never do favors for dispatch. (also never do anything for free. need that empty moved, no problem, how much you paying?)
9- Trip plan everything. Even short little runs. How are you getting in, where are you going, when will you be done? When do you need to leave by, where's your parking? What's your secondary parking?
10- Protect your license like it's gold. If you don't think it's safe to drive, don't. Ain't nobody going to die cuz your semi truck load of Huggies is 5 hours late.
Anyone else agree with any of these? My favorite is the second one for sure.

Meet Nailah and Martin!
Two different people who truly love what they do, which is driving a truck.
Sometimes in life, you need to think outside of the box.
When a friend suggested that Nailah attend truck driving school she stood in front of her in high heels and a dress and thought NO way was this for her. Today she happily says, “I am in a place where I don’t have to want for anything. I am happy. I don’t have bill collectors calling me from random numbers anymore. To be in this industry was one of the greatest decisions I ever made.”
For Martin, he loves that trucking provides the ability to advance and provide a future and reveals that “The trucking industry has opened a future for me. In most corporate environments you are limited. In the trucking industry, there is no cap on how far you can go.”
Come and watch the rest of their stories in this [wonderful short video] (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6AM9_Q_V_aE&=&feature=youtu.be) proudly made by Jobcase from the voice of real truckers.
So, would you consider a career in trucking?
If you are presently a trucker, thank YOU for all that you do! : )

A lot of places are trying out self driving trucks saying it will make trucking freight safer and cheaper. Anybody who has driven a truck knows that it’s NOT that easy. What happens if a steer tire blows out?! Or if the weather is crap? Computers can’t fix everything. I honestly never liked the idea of self-driving anything. I feel like I am in the Twilight Zone. Anyone else?

I notice more and more states are shutting down lots more rest stops to cut costs, which forces us to park in empty parking lots or on the side of interstates to get some sleep. Where do you all park your truck? Do you guys think this will ever get any better?! I am annoyed!

I'm 22 years old and finishing college next year but I am thinking about taking a year off to help start paying these loans before I get buried! I've talked over my options with a couple of my old bosses, both used to drive. They said that I could do a training program with a large carrier like Swift, get my CDL, ride out my contract, and then use what I earn to pay tuition and loans. I don’t think it sounds like a bad idea and I def want to go back to finish school. I have come too far to drop out now. I can see the country and trucking would beat flipping burgers, wouldn't it? What do you all think I should do?

I am a woman and drive a truck for a living, but I hate it when people look at me after I say what I do and tell me…..but you’re so small!!! I mean, what does that matter!? Or worse when I am standin next to my truck and people ask me where my man is. HA! I don’t have time for one.
I am a single mom and after taking care of my kid I went back to work. I had never driven a truck before in my life and thought why not the money is good and if I hated it I’d quit. Here I am 3 years later even when they said I couldn't. No one in this world should ever tell you that you can’t do somethin.
Any other female truckers out there? Please say hello!!

My kids left the nest years ago, but since my wife just passed away this recent November it's been a tough time without her. I have been thinking about getting back out there and trucking again. I used to drive before I was in the service and it was great, but now I am pushing 62. Do you think that’s too old to drive? Can anyone tell me what I need to do next to get going with this? Any help is welcomed and so appreciated, thank you friends!
