I'm not understanding how I can only claim 12 weeks of unemployment. I have been on numerous interviews and I have applied to so many job. Now I have exhausted my benefits. How do they expect people to survive? This is depressing and frustrating. I feel like my state wants you to fail. I have never abused the system.

I worked as a mental health counselor for about six months before one of my clients, an angry 10 year old, said that I had swore at him during our session and that I told him I didn't care about him. This was a complete falsehood. The client swore at me, repeatedly telling me to "shut the f*@# up b@$#&", he insulted me, and lied about how his previous counselor treated him. My bosses claimed to believe me but I was fired nonetheless. I have been unemployed for six months now and am either overqualified or underqualified for the positions I have been applying for, and have not been receiving any call backs with any input one way or another. What am I missing or doing wrong?

I'm 58 years old and have been unemployed for almost a year my unemployment insurance ran out in January. I'm almost broke and can't find work . I spoke to someone at the California unemployment office in February and they said my employment claim runs out July 1st. And too call them back the last week of June if I hadn't found work. Does anybody who lives in California know what happens then ?

I worked for a temp agency for exactly 2 years . They are a very messy. And recently I got laid off from the job from one of their clients, I filed for unemployment the next day .. it took them 14 days to reply to the unemployment agency with a form that they had sent them ... now they are denying me unemployment benefits... ?? When I called unemployment and asked why they said because my temp agency said I quit . Which is not true ! I got laid off therefore I completed my assignment for their client. I called my temp agency And they said that the reason they said I wasnt going to get unemployment was because I had not contacted them saying I was available for work .Now they are denying me just because I didn't call in and say that I was available. I have been searching for work every since My last day of work ! I looked for some work on their company website and a whole bunch of other places. I know another person who got laid off about the same time I did worked at the same place through the temp agency i work for ..and never called in to tell them that he was available for work and he still got his benefits ! I told him of my situation and he said he never once contacted them and that it wasnt fair that they are giving him unemployment but denying me unemployment. Also So stressful because I am also pregnant . Just dont know what to do anymore been looking for work over a month now . I dont think its fair for them to force their rules sometimes rather than doing it all the time to different people. I wonder if i will win my appeal.

So im California and i was a store manager employed for almost 4 years in June. Learned so much from this company from legal knowledge to computerized work duties with no prior experience or education this company made me and im very thankful. About 3 months ago i was asked to run two stores sure no problem the other store is a small format had its assistant easy pizzy. No one told me the assistant ( not that they had to) was bipolar to the 10th power. After the first outburst slash tantrum it was a hit or miss with her i because stressed because i didn't know if she was calling me to quit and leave the store with no one or just to say hi. Soon after i learned i was pregnant i didn't tell my boss but i did tell him that i didn't want to run the other store, i was stressed my head was hurting i could attend my regular store with my regular employees it was not what i signed up for. He pretty much brushed off my request. I continue for almost another month through this time i was putting more pressure on my assistant Having him to do tasks he wasnt capacitated for and bucked and slowly shutdown which i don't blame the other woman finally had another outburst it was a matter of time and i was left to split myself in two. Excruciating headaches malnutrition pregnancy stress it was the most expensive cocktail that ended my 9 week pregnancy my body was so stressed that it wouldn't let go of the pregnancy. On 3/27 was my breaking point i went in to the clinic they said i was fine they didn't bother to check my baby because my official appointment was the following day. 3/28 no fetal heartbeat 3/29 my Bday i was confirmed and given another appointment to get the baby out. 3/30 i went in to work i couldnt work so i left early. My boss pushing about cigarette counts about conference calls everything seemed like i cheated myself. This company that i dedicated 4 years of my life and work gave me the best lesson learned that i will never forget. 3/31 i resigned i told my boss that if he would have given me support or not made me work like a vending machine, i would still be having my baby. Someone told me i have a case, i have considered it who knows maybe a good lawyer can get an idea of what this is worth from a worldwide corporate company. However my interest is to the now I quit my job base on this Lost my baby due to excessive stress i was unemployed for a 17 days can i apply for unemployment benefits for those days even if it was voluntary resignation??????? I need to make payments and i dont get my first check till the 10th

Sorry for the miss spells or missed grammar

I was "let go" in January of this year after 4 1/2 years working for someone who contacted ME and asked me to work for them. Not given a reason for the termination. I am receiving unemployment and considered a "displaced worker" and therefore I qualify for FREE continuing education. The process to get approved is time consuming but I am certain it will be well worth it! Check with your local unemployment office to find out if your state has any type of grants for displaced workers. You may be able to receive certification for your areas of experience to help you gain full time beneficial employment. Good luck!

The plant where I worked cut back 50% of its workforce and laid me off this month. Two months earlier I got a verbal warning for being late a couple of days and a written warning for a quality control error I made at the end of a 60 hour work week from mandatory overtime. They told me not to worry because I didn’t have enough corrective action incidents to affect my unemployment benefits. Today I received a rejection letter from unemployment and called the plant manager for an explanation. He told me that was a state unemployment decision and had nothing to do with the company. I called the unemployment office and they referred me back to the company. Rent is due next week and these people are playing games with my money. Who can I turn to for help?
