I had experienced a harsh bite. Someone had stolen every penny of the money I had saved and there was absolutely nothing I could do about it. I was literally outside of myself with hurt and anger, that was my house money for my children and I . In two seconds it was gone. I was lost When the door opened and my eyes saw all of the bikes it was something beautiful had washed all of the ugly away from me.

The very second I opened the door, from wall to wall in the front room , there were brand new bicycles, of every color and size. Immediately, all of the worry and stress released itself and a huge smile replaced it all.

I lost my home and vehicle and my job due to the flood we had in Council Bluffs Iowa. I became homeless and sought help during my time of need and asked for help through the Michah House. As I was staying there I asked if I could possibly volunteer to help out in any area's that needed help. That's how I started volunteering. I really loved helping others, as it gave me a great perspective of my life goals.
