I enjoyed working for #W.a.g.s.4kids because...

Not only did I enjoy working with animals, but it was exciting to see the dogs learn various tasks such as opening doors, picking clothes up off the floor and placing them in baskets among slot of other task.It was fulfilling knowing that I was preparing a dog to help a child making the child's life a bit easier.I enjoyed seeing and hearing how much the work we put into the dogs impacted the entire family. It was at that point I realized I had a gift.

A #stressful #W.L.GoreandAssociates.,Inc. day

Deadlines had to be met; month end closing, fiscal year end, audits, etc. Everything had to be reconciled, always deadlines, always met them though.

Drama at #W.L.GoreandAssociates.,Inc.

I was a sponsor to an accounts payable associate, we had just hired a new accounting person into our group. I was doing General Ledger, the new person asked me if there was anything she could do for me, I gave her a job to do. The associates I was sponsoring, we were also good friends, was upset because she wanted to learn other things and felt cheated. I knew she was mad when we left for the day. It was month end and you only has a short time to close the books for the month. When we went to work the nest day, she came into my office and said she was “pisses off” that she wanted to grow and I gave a job to the new girl. I said, I know you are but you told me your plate was full and if I am asked for work to do, that is what I am going to do. When you are a sponsor to someone, you have to first be a sponsor and then a friend. It was all worked out to everyone’s satisfaction.

What I loved working at #W.L.GoreandAssociates.,Inc.

When I started working at W. L. Gore and associates, it was a time when they wanted to train you to do jobs as they wanted them done. I started as a switchboard operator, while also being a secretary to a couple of associates, plus voucher in accounts payables. So, I was doing several jobs at one time. I did not stay on the switchboard very long as I was pulled off to do accounts payable, entering and check writes. I loved that you could work at a job that you felt passionate about while stepping up and learning more and growing with the company. I later was responsible for the general ledger, learning much along the way and training others. Loved the Gore culture.
