There are many qualities that can help you achieve this position. The most important one is that you are dependable. You have a proven attendance and punctuality record. You are willing to work various shifts and can be relied on to do overtime when needed. Stress that you are hands on and eager to learn any new role presented to you. Along with what has been mentioned above one needs to be able to troubleshoot. Also should be mechanically inclined and have a willingness to learn new machines.

Machine operator jobs usually do not require experience, they would rather teach you which is almost always an easy process, I have been working in factories most of my life and no experience is more often than not a plus, all machine's are different so the preference is to have a non experienced employee who doesn't act like they know everything because of previous experience.

If your trying to forklift, then you have to be certified for that.. If your not certified, some jobs are willing to train you to get certified but you can't work with forklift if you dont have a certification permit, unless the job is going to put you through forklift operator training to become that of certified personnel. Good luck and its not hard at all... just may take a little time to get comfortable driving those big trucks
