Jobs are always asking for experience... What if you have none yet you have more of a desire to work and learn than those with experience. How do you tell a potential employer to take a chance on you ?

I was hired as an agent with bankers life and started right off with cost for licenses and was told I would be pd back for, then told of bonuses if complete the 3,ooo.oo SNA goal which I did and then I had to pay 175.00 a month to be able to work with company out of commissions. last and not least I had to pay back all the time. Never recieved last commissions I know went through should of been about 700.00 and they only gave me 65.00 that is all I got. I waisted time gas and money with this company only to help the company get paid. Lost and really hurt about what they did. I had been laid off from a company befor took the job I was called back to the company the same time bankers life called me and said I guarantee a six digit income. so I didn't go back to the company I was laid off and i would of had at least a 1,000.00 pay check now i can't even go back due to I left.... so never believe this company there promises are false they lie and don't want to help you just want to pocket for themselves

I’ve unsuccessfully applied for well over 300 jobs since I got laid off 2 years ago. Unfortunately, all that I’ve been able to conclude from my experience is that the bias on job applicants in their 50’s and 60’s is alive and well. I haven’t been able to find a way to overcome the stereotypes around outrageous salary requirements, the ability to be technologically efficient, and the ability to give up old skills for new ones. The last recession and globalization simply crippled the workforce in my generation. I’m just looking for anything I can find right now. How can I make myself more marketable to employers?

It's very sad to note that despite the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) that is suppose to protect individuals with disabilities, according to a disability advocacy group called Respect Ability, up to 70% of people with disabilities are unemployed. So, despite the ADA, it does appear that most people with disabilities continue to have a difficult time finding employment. Unfortunately, it's also difficult for many people in general nowadays to get a job. It seems like discrimination based on age, disability, and even nationality have become factors in excluding individuals from employment. I would recommend that a person with a disability maybe seek assistance through agencies like Vocational Rehabilitation Services where they may be able to assist placing people on jobs that can accommodate the disability, and assure that these individuals are connected to companies that will support them.

I am partially handicapped with a lung issue. I work in Information Technology and can work remotely or in a clients office. If I interview via Skype I tend to get the job. If I interview via Skype and have any face to face interviews it suddenly gets different when the interviewer sees my O2 concentrator. I have actually had interviewers ask me if I could physically manage their campus, which is an illegal question. One new screening method is the online form to voluntarily state if you have a disability. it is amazing if I say no, I get a follow-up call. If I state yes, you know the rest. So is it getting better? Only at larger companies that have compliance reporting.

I noticed that my profile is showing my work experience in reverse order. It's show the oldest to the newest and I want it the other way around. Is there a way to have it show in "Newst" to "Oldest?"
