Sigh. Another report by social scientists w masters degrees publishing at Harvard telling the rest of us how we can choose to break our "addiction to work". Seriously??!! My dad, brothers and I have all worked way over 60 hour weeks most of our lives, but it's not addiction ya ivy-league-well-meaning-luvable-knuckleheads. We gotta pay the bills!! My dad.- a commission-only insurance agent wanted to get his kids thru college because he nor his parents could afford to get him thru. He did it! (Thanks mom and dad). But he did it cuz he worked crazy hours towards this goal he didn't work crazy hours cuz he was "addicted to work". He did it to provide for his family in the way he wanted. Honestly, they really should have a semester at advanced degree colleges that put them in real world situations to try to teach empathy, no? Lol, ok I'm done. It's just so strange to keep reading things in one set of publications that seem so disconnected from most people's reality. And I thought I'd voice that frustration here....

I recently got hired as a designer, and I love my new job! I definitely recommend that anyone with a talent for drawing or a great eye for colors get into the design field. It’s a great career with lots of fun challenges.

just wanted to stop in and say hi to everyone I've been welding for 27 years $28 lost tracks been so long but I hope you're all doing good we'll see what this see what it can do for us.

I made a mistake on the register and undercharged a customer by $150 bucks. The customer was a major scam artist but I have enough experience and should have caught on if I was more focused. I just have a lot of negative stuff happening in my life right now with my son, parents, and money problems of course. I was picking up more hours at work but I let myself get too burned out. Now the managers have me stuck pushing carts and picking up trash in the parking lot as punishment. Exactly what my ego needs right now! I am so fed up, I wish I could disappear. Sorry for venting but I’m in need of a little hope. Thanks

Past 6:00 on a Friday and the Jobcase office in Cambridge was still buzzing with activity. We know how hard it can b to navigate to a great worklife- we aren't resting til we make it easier for everyone. This is how I feel watching this teams dedication- and pls know that we won't stop til every Jobcaser can feel this way about their own colleagues and worklife.

This was an interview question I was asked this week for a seasonal retail position believe it or not! I thought the manager was kidding so I gave him a silly answer like “Desperately Seeking Employment”.

I’ve been mentally wrestling over a new job opportunity in a higher role with another company. Right now I have a really comfortable job with a fabulous working environment but I’m afraid of risking it all over an uncertain career opportunity.

Forget hitting that snooze button over and over again. What’s on your playlist that gets you energized and ready to take charge in the morning?

If you want to succeed at your job, you need to stay motivated. What are the 3 things you do to bring your A-game at work, even when you’re not feeling it?
Hi Dakota, is there someone you can talk to at the hospital about this? It sounds like your best bet is to ask this question to someone who might be above the nurses. Hope you get the answer you're looking for!
