I recently was selected for a position that started yesterday. The position was not in the local area and required relocation. During the interview process, j was told that it would be possible to work remotely for a month or so, giving me time to gather funds to relocate. I did the normal background check, drug test, and admin paperwork without any issues. Took 1 week and had to wait around for another week till my start date of 6 May (yesterday).During my time of waiting to start, I sent emails inquiring about how the remote work process works as I have not received any further information. Normally, I would have instructions to be expecting a company laptop, etc. We'll, the Friday prior to start date the only response I received was that I was to start at 9 am on Monday and that there was an inquiry for remote work. Up in further requests for clarification, no response was provided.

So, come Monday morning I was okn the phone at 7 am, 2 hours before I was expected to start, trying to still get some idea of what was actually expected of me. By 10 am, I fijnally learned that I needed to complete 2 weeks of training, whjich was only onsite. The recruiting firm attempted to rent a car for me and make arrangements for a two weeks stay but did it incorrectly, preventing me from obtaining necessary transportation, lodging etc. By the end of Monday, I was told that I needed to report by 9 am next day or they would pass on my employment. We'll, I had no way to get there. Tried looking into taking a bus, train, Craigslist timeshare, and available friends that could drive me to location, which was about three hours away. Anyways, a position in had turned into a situation of unemployment. I also passed on two other solid possibilities for this job. I have one question, is there any legal issues that I can lean on because this has been very unfair and has left me in a bad situation. Employer is located in California; however, I reside in Nevada. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I was fired from my previous job for "unethical misconduct. " I appealed this (to receive unemployment $) & won because employer could not provide any proof to support their claim. What is the best way to respond when being interviewed and asked why I'm no longer at that business?

I was let go from a home health company because i got sick at work. I had called in the day before and informed them i was sick and didnt need to go in the next day but was told by the office scheduler to go in anyway that i didnt have to have any physical contact with the client. So i was told i was taken off schedule until further notice. So when i got better i called in to inform them i was ready to go back to work which was 2 days later and i was informed i was being terminated because i did not clean up behind myself when i became sick. Am i in the wrong?

So I got “released of my duties” because they were “eliminating my position” at a casino I worked at for 10 years. I had felt like a target for awhile and had already been looking for another job. A new company bought the casino a year ago. But the whole situation still smacked me in the face. They literally met me in the parking lot. How professional is that BS!!!! Anyway the letter they gave me says that I was some sort of a terrible employee!!! It really ticked me off because I always asked how I was doing if there was anything I needed to work on and was told no!! Then smack rightbin the face!!!! I feel like I got fired but they said they were “eliminating my position”! I saw the job posting on another sight. They are hiring an operations manager at A LOT less than what they were paying me. Made me feel like I was let go because I made more money than what they wanted to pay me! I am the making that is why I felt targeted. The EEOC and labor board said I should file a case against them what do you all think

I worked at my job for 25 years. I was let go without a good enough reason along with many others. I am 55 years old and was making a great paycheck. I do not have a business degree or any type of college education. However I have more experience at what I do than someone coming out of college but that does not matter. So tired of hunting for a new job and getting very nervous I will lose my home. These big corporations rather pay 3 young people a quarter of what I made. Your just a number not a person anymore. I feel lost and exhausted putting in resume after resume.

I was terminated while I was ill and waiting for a heart procedure. This despite the fact that while I was awaiting the procedure I went to work almost every day, basically against Doctor’s orders. Is this legal?

So my life hasn't been easy. Many obstacles in the past decade have hindered me getting work. Forced to use bad advice, abuse at home, abusive relationship, death in the family, homelessness, and now being out of the age range that most people get their first few jobs i am broken.

I am 26 and have actively been doing about 40 applications a week for the past year and a half since things finally stabilized.I have only 2 months of experience from three years ago (this time 2015) which i got wrongly fired from.

Each day I lose confidence in my ability to work and I constantly grow more scared of not being able to land one or keep it.

I am socially awkward so the first hello's at interviews are generally not the best impression and I can't ever tell if I am being too casual or too professional. The second time meeting me onward I am a lot less awkward and far more relaxed, but I've never gotten to a second interview.

What I am looking for are stories, or just advice from those that just by some force struggled to get a job (or rarely employed) on how they kept their head up and how things turned around. People that know people like this or have worked with them are fine to share their experiences too.

At this point I am just looking to lessen my fear and try to gain back some of my hope lost years ago.

Yes so I have a question, if someone like myself that have worked a job for 2 years straight with zero call outs, zero lateness, zero no call no shows, zero write ups. How is it possible for a company to fire you without any justifiable reason to let you go because you obtain a beverage from an agent via catering, in which was given to me, but at the same time our flight crew also give the agents items from catering. By the way I used to work for the airlines. An that is not the only bad thing, that is the courts and lawyers do not fight for such an injust act...
