I was responsible for taxes and all company reports. and my first month on the job I made a mistake on figuring payroll taxes. Fortunately, I was able to catch the mistake before the penalty period expired and I wrote a letter explaining the mistake and sent an additional check to cover the taxes due. After that, I put into place a rule that someone in upper management had to double check my work to insure that never happened again.

It was a day where we had 23" of snow and most of us could not get to work. An employee with a truck came and picked me up because I was responsible for payroll and it was month end so I also had to close out the books and prepare taxes and month end reports.. The employee helped me as best he could and we stayed late into the night to get everything completed on time.

I asked if we could discuss the matter calmly and try to come to an understanding that would lead to a resolution to the problem.

It was a family owned business. I was treated as part of the family. The business was fairly small and I wa in complete charge of the financials from making credit calls, billing, payroll through taxes and compiling reports.

I am a temp registered with multiple staffing agencies. Last week, I was on an assignment, and although the client gave my Agency/employer very positive feedback on my job performance, they ended my assignment with them due to an encounter I had with a newly hired co-worker. This co-worker had just gotten hired on as an Accounting Clerk; NOT a supervisor nor manager of any kind. In just two hours into her first day of work, and while still undergoing "New-Hire Orientation Training", she was approaching and addressing me as if I worked for her. For example, she was telling me to run errands for her; make her photocopies and fetch her any office supplies that she needed; she even began asking me what my work hours were, what time I planned on taking lunch, what tasks was I working on, and the like. I wasted no time in "letting her have it"; I pointedly told her that I was her peer, NOT her subordinate, that I did not work for her and that I had a supervisor from whom I took direction, and that she was out of line)
I am a good, reliable employee, but I also believe in "defending myself" and putting others in their place if I feel that other parties are "overstepping boundaries" or are "trying to take advantage". Unfortunately my temper and outspokenness has not always served me well. What assistance can you offer? I value your insight and guidance. Thank you.

I enjoyed helping my clients over the telephone and I really uplifted them with encouraging words and wished them well. They have made me smile and wished me well when my asthma would flare up.

Well. I at least worked for a week. I guess I didn't cut it as fast as they wanted me too. The A/P supervisor told me last Friday that she wanted me to work as fast as the others who have been there a while. Meanwhile I told her and my Recruiter that Ithe only A/P was in expense not merchandise but they insisted it was easy. Oh well! I am 66 and I know I am not washed up .

Helping people in need of a clean environment and the challenge to do so.

After 12 years on disability I’m getting back to work. I left as a SX auditor making $138,000 a year and even though I’ll only make $30 an hour, I’m excited to be back in my field with little certifications needed. Now I’m studying for my CIA ( certified internal auditor ) and CPA exams. On a personal note, I’m starting back at a gym so I can get my dancer body back and lose 25 pounds to get back to 116! I’m also looking at old farmhouses on land to buy. Life is good!

I did jobs are not in my job description that make my job much heavier.
