I will be 58 soon and not able to do the more physical work. I love Americorps. If you complete service hours you receive a by weekly stipend and educational award to use or be gifted to immediate children or grandchild. Also for young people before after college looks great on resume. Americorps has full time and part time employment. Americorps has areas of service not just in reading and math but recovery corps and forestry corps to name a few. Check it out!

Serving with AmeriCorps was an amazing experience. I gained experience with data analysis and reporting, grant writing, and intern management. Brown University supported my cohort throughout the year and gave us access to all the university has to offer. We had trainings and seminars through the Swearer Center, I audited courses and was a part of a staff committee.
It is the most rewarding thing I have done in my life.. Tutoring 1st and 2nd grade. Just to see the light in their eyes when what your teaching finally clicks. It tells you I get it. What could be better than that. Also, the people that you work with are all on board and we all have the same goals, helping kids.
Please go for it, its the best program I've ever been in and it's all about helping the kids
To me it wasn't ever stressful it was all about the kids so I always went to someone else if I couldn't complete that, or didn't know how to go about it I went to a teacher to help me or someone at the Americorps program..
Everything was great about in their core expression Li when they got to teaching the kids and helping down understand reading because it made me happy and it also made them happy and also the test scores when app at least 2 to 3 points which they pass a test in and 8 me the school and the kids very happy I loved it.
I loved interacting with clients and helping them find safe affordable housing. The appreciation they showed and the fulfillment I got was amazing to my spirit. I've never had such pleasure interacting with people as much as my service at Americorp.
If your interested working for the Americorps, first do your research before beginning the process, nothing is silver and gold unless made by hands, it's a back breaking job and doesn't title religion if your into that sort of thing, also controls most of the board so if your a chest player don't begin the timer unless you're prepared for the fight of your life!
