
CCRI is offering a new Patient Support Specialist program. This training is for people who want to work with patients in a medical environment in a non-clinical position. Graduates of this program can expect to begin careers as medical administrative assistants, patient service representatives, unit secretaries, medical customer service agents, and other related positions.
This 8-week course will be a hybrid of online virtual classes and two in-person classes.
The next training session is set to begin Monday, December 14, 2020.

American Safety Programs and Training Inc. is offering a FREE 40-hour program to jobseekers who want to become a certified Contact Tracer Technician.
The Contact Tracer Technician Class trains participants to safely perform contact tracing for individuals during this COVID19 pandemic. You will learn the proper skills for PPE donning and doffing. State of Rhode Island contraction documentation, how to notify for exposures and more.
Classes begin on November 30, 2020 and will meet until December 21, 2020. Graduates will receive a voucher for the National Certification Exam. Upon completion of this course you will hold a certificate to be employed as a credentialed Contact Tracer.

Skills for Rhode Island’s Future (SkillsRI) is recruiting bilingual (Spanish/English) candidates for a FREE 17-week training program to prepare you for a career as a Community Healthcare Worker AND will provide up to $1,000 in compensation for successful participation in the program. The Program begins on December 2, 2020. Participants will learn Microsoft Office, intro to behavioral health, business writing, financial literacy, interview skills, resume development, as well as the skills necessary to become a Certified Community Health Worker in Rhode Island such as an introduction to community health, behavioral health literacy, and much more. Graduates will receive:
- A Foundations of Community Health Worker Training Certificate from Rhode Island College
- Digital Literacy Certificate
- First Aid/CPR Certification
- Up to $1,000 in compensation
- Job placement assistance post-training and may also pursue state certification after 1,000 hours of employment in the field.

Growing Futures will train you with the skills you need to pursue a career in green industries. Participants in the training program will learn about the broad horticulture industry through online learning modules that have been developed with direct input from industry professionals. Plus, you will get hands-on experience at work sites.
Trainees will work in small groups under the supervision of industry professionals. Groups will meet twice a week, for three weeks in January.
