I had a boss that hated me simply because she was not only incompetent but immature and did not command respect from anyone - customers, vendors or co-workers. She lied, evaded responsibility and blamed others for problems so nobody wanted to deal with her. One day a customer on a major project I was involved in came to our facility and wanted to talk to me about one of my projects, because he know he would not get a straight answer from my boss, and she would not share any critical information with others as that was her means of keeping power and control. The customer told her that it would be much easier if he could talk to me directly, and she had a fit because her main management technique was to remind everyone that SHE was the boss and that SHE was in charge. I eventually left that place and moved on.
