Bank of America has problems hiring and training good managers and/or supervisors. I worked with a very large group of people where we had an upper level senior manager who would say, "I like numbers and they need to look good". My question back would be, "Why are you working with such a large group of people? We are not just numbers." He honestly had no idea how to work with large groups of people. The guy (he was quite young) needed to work in a job like accounting where he could work with numbers all day and not have to deal with real people. It was very stressful to work in those conditions (My direct manager had no idea what my job entailed and could not help me when I had a question - I had to go to a different manager who could answer hard questions about my job). They have a very large problem with upper management.
