I felt proud to work for #Cabelas when..I worked there for almost 3 years before being railroaded out.
I worked at Cabelas for just short of 3 years in the firearms department with good reviews and customer acceptance Our store manager was promoted to take over another store in her home state. A new manager was hired, She came on board with an attitude towards all, and after a few days it was obvious that she had something against me. We went from going to friendly when she started, then in a few days I could feel some tension whenever I was around her. It seemed apparent that she had little or no knowledge of firearms, which was the department I worked in. She trumped up charges that I mishandled a firearm endangering customers. In fact I am a Certified Rifle and Pistol instructor as well as a Range Safety Officer and know when a firearm is safe and when it is not, more so than she did. She charged me with a flagrant safety violation which was totally unfounded, then railroaded a dismissal within 6 hours of the supposed infraction with out any warning or due process and terminated my employment. Other people in the department do the same thing that I was charged for every day and are not chastised or threatened with termination. I have no idea why she chose to take this action other than a bias against senior citizens or women working in the firearms industry or initiating an adverse action based on her lack of knowledge in proper firearms handling procedures or some personal prejudice. #management

I love my coworkers and the managers. Fun place to worker #

This such a tricky question. I have a Traumatic Brain Injury, and confrontation can be difficult for me. The customer I was helping was very mad because it was taking a bit longer than he expected for us to mount and bore sight his rifle. I informed the department manager of the situation, and my manager decided to give him a gift card for his troubles.

I am a medically retired police officer with a very strong work ethic and a fairly large knowledge of firearms. I also am very aware of the safety considerations that are involved in handling a firearm.

Go interview and ask a lot of questions they are willing to answer any questions there are no dumb questions is there attitude!
