Each company has their own system for you to follow. The places I have worked, have trained me in their system. Always be courteous and pleasant to everyone you are in contact with. And If you have basic math skills you will do fine. It’s always nice to have change counted back to your customer.

As a cashier, you’ll be talking to a lot of people while standing in a single spot almost the entire time. You’ll learn to have patience with all types of situations and personalities, from aggressive to happy. And you’ll slowly gain in social skills such as small talk, which will help for jobs like a retailer. Or a job that requires a lot of social activity, and patience.

Possibly move to another department and become a department head.

The cashier accurately manages cash and credit card transactions and balancing the register at the end of the shift. Cashiers ultimately become menu experts after a few months on the job. Nandos cashiers are generally quick and efficient while warm and gracious guides to our restaurants.

It’s not hard at all. Make sure you count the changes. And always make sure you have a positive attitude.

@ Jade Pate it’s not hard. Yes the register pretty does all the work. But every once in awhile stuff happens an the register goes down or freezes and it helps to have some math skills. An again yes you have to be able to answer customer question and if they are upset and take it out on you just let it roll off your back.
