I retired 2 years ago and I miss the girls and patients but not the micromanagement that the nurse manager used.

The office is not organized at all. I enjoyed working directly with Joy Shewbridge, PA-C until I was blindsided by her and Dr. Accousti ( who is her immediate supervisor). There is no communication amongst the clinical staff and Doctors. I was just recently told how much of an asset I was to the team and how I am the best assistant Joy has ever had because I got along with her . Apparently the several Medical Assistants before me had trouble with her personality. So, I was never given written warning or even knew what the issue with me was. It was not my performance at all. I worked from home, was my downfall. On the bright side, if you are up front and tell the Doctor that you are " surfing the web" to get hours, you will be just fine. So, overall, they are not honest and really don't care about you. They just make you feel like it. Good luck whoever decides to accept the position! I was there for 2 years 2 months and would have been there longer. I'm just glad I saw through everything.

It seems it is very difficult to obtain a job as a medical assistant. I have applied for so many that does not specify that they are looking for a certified medical assistant. They call and do a telephone interview or have me come in for an interview. They ask the question why did you leave your last position and then the question are you certified. I am not currently certified however I am registered to take the exam. I am not able to schedule my test until after the 15th of October. So everyone out there say a prayer for me that I will pass the test.
