The diversity of the job. Every day is a new experience. I've said many times that anyone going into the social degrees should work in a "C" store for at least six months; that candicate will learn more about human behavior than any book! That is the part I enjoy the most about retail...the diversity of demographics.

Not listening to a customer, really! After that incident, I went out-of-my-way to make that person more comfortable coming into the store.

Listen, I mean really listen, do not argue, and then ask, "what can I do to make you pleased with the outcome?" That is actual happenings during my retail career.

Run the other way!! I was there for 2 years and turnover is very high, very poor management, and the HR director is the worst ever!
