Do you like to write and edit content? Are you part of a profession that requires continuing education? Here is something to consider. Many companies that offer continuing education content and products need people to write, edit, and update that content. This work may be able to be done remotely and/or on a contract basis. For example, if you are a nurse, you'd want to take any continuing education classes from an American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) approved provider (as it is more likely to be accepted toward your state's continuing education requirements). On the ANCC page below, take a look at the list on the "download accredited organizations." This list contains ANCC approved organizations, which offer continuing education courses and they may need writers for their content, especially any company that is expanding their content in the marketplace. As well, healthcare content always needs to be current, so you might be surprised by what you find.

Even if you aren't a nurse, you can use this same approach to seek writing work in your profession by finding out if there is a similar organization like ANCC, and looking at the companies that are approved by them for opportunities.

I have decided to try for a doctorate at Marshall University, my favorite stomping grounds. I am interested in the doctor of education-curriculum and instruction program. I may have to be interviewed as part of the admissions process. Has anybody ever gone through this process, and what was it like for you? I may be interested in teaching journalism and/or graphic art-website design as another way of fulfilling my dream of combing the two fields. Any ideas?

I need help I need advice. I have stage 4 C.O.P.D and I am on oxygen. I had a job I loved but due to health I had to go on disability. I didn't want to stay on disability so I chose a career that I could stay at home and work. I went to Rasmussen for Graphic Design. I was very excited. Well they decided to stop the program leaving me only with an associates degree. In this field you need a bachelors degree. So I tried to continue my education elsewhere but come to find out Rasmussen's Graphic Design program was not at all what it should be. To start at another school I would have to take 8 classes that Rasmussen didn't have before I even start the Bachelors degree. By the time it was all said and done my student loans would come to almost 95 thousand dollars. I couldn't justify that for a job that pays about 45 thousand a year. I have applied for non labor jobs but they all pay less than I get on disability. What can I do to make a decent living while on oxygen?

Just wanted to post recent developments. I passed all the entrance exams for I-Tech Health Sciences, and was accepted to the LPN Program. I have most of the tuition paid for through FL Career Source, and am expecting the Federal Pell Grant to pay the rest and help with out of pocket expenses. I am still looking for a weekend job, but will not worry about that until my 13 months of training is finished. I have been facing a lot of obstacles, but have jumped the hardest hurdles. If anyone is looking to go back to school, don't talk yourself out of it. I am 42 and hadn't been in school of any kind in twenty plus years. Retirement age is still far enough away that I have a good many years of work left in me, I would rather work those years in a diversified career where I could never get bored. Nursing is not for every one, but with a little thought and a great deal of determination, you can find a niche that will provide financial stability and mental satisfaction. Preparation is the key to success for older students that may have senior moments, I studied with the help of study guides around sixteen hours a day because of the closeness of my exams. Depending on your time constraints, you can adjust accordingly. Check with the financial aid departments, fill out your fasfa, check local community job centers, and go for it. It can be difficult, but it will be worth it.
