I did not work for or at South wind. I contracted my equipment to a broker to use his authority to transport freight throughout the country. I did this for many years as I was very satisfied with the arrangement.David, the broker was as fair and honest a person as I have ever known.

It only takes a bit of confident and a lot of open eared humility, the contracters where helpful and instructive they knew what they needed and they ablugged everyone that worked for them, I could have asked for a better employer God Bless

I need your opinion in following scenario.

If we sign a a year contract with the employer with the amount of salary. Will it be able protect us after lay off. Or does the contract should clearly states that employer need to pay remaining amount of salary if in case job is terminated.

Can you please suggest.

Thanks

I'm in a bit of a pinch. My freelancing work has been great for me, but it's not consistent enough right now.

I have a lot of health issues, but they are unlikely to get me on disability, particularly because of my age since I'm not even 30 yet.

Can we brainstorm on this?

I can't stand still for more than 20 minutes at a time. I can move around and walk for a few hours, but standing aggravates my scoliosis, degenerative disc disease, arthritis, and Fibromyalgia. These same issues cause fatigue and occasional muscle weakness, so I can't do things that require consistent lifting more than 30 pounds.

I'm not interested in driving as a job (such as Lyft, UPS, etc.), because I hate driving.

My shining talent is with editing and creative writing. I can proofread and edit pretty much anything, catching stuff that no one else sees.

I'm on 10 different job boards (Indeed, CareerBuilder, etc.) and still haven't landed anything after searching and applying most of this year. I've got some freelance clients, but I feel like I'm just treading water in terms of my funds.

My fatigue (especially when my insomnia kicks it up a notch) and muscle pain are my biggest roadblocks. What kinds of jobs are there that are full-time and can accommodate my issues? I've been applying to admin assistant jobs and similar things to that (secretary, receptionist, etc.).

I really need to work on my nest egg, but I'm not getting anywhere. Please help if you can think of anything!

I have 13 years of experience in Collections and Accounts Receivable (full cycle). I have always had direct hire positions until i got laid off a year ago and since than my last 3 jobs were contract positions with no future. I am getting frustrated because I am very dedicated, hard working and ambitious person, and I start feeling like no one hires you without using staffing agency for short period of time. I am looking for a decent job with stability. Is this too much to ask???

I verbally and I wrote an email that I accepted the position. I signed the contract, and I had turned in the contact into HR working fom Aug. To June. I turned in most new employee forms along with Dr.s physical. Then weeks later contract was rescinded. Is that legal?

I was injured on the job. I'm a mechanical designer and periodically my job does require me to go out to customers office & jobsite and and take field notes, and apply my notes to my engineering drawings. Being a contractor for various customers throughout the U.S. I must assist them in design & field work when ask to do so. I was told not to go out to the field by my doctor, so I did notified my customer (Engineering Manager) & made a copy of Dr's note so they would have it on hand. So the engineering manager told everyone, I had restrictions, by not going out to the field. So 2.5 months went by and one of the client employee's commented with sarcasm Why do we have this contractor here if he no longer can't go out to the field to assist us but he knew, that I had plenty of design work in their office, so he told the lead person of the department he needed me to got out to the field really quick. Which lead person agreed, for me to go out to the field to assist his employee. So being a contractor pretty much you must do what they tell you, if not you will hear it from your employer, as to why I couldn't assist our (MULTI-MILLION)customer. I know if I wouldn't have, I would not hear the end of it regardless my restrictions. Having said, this! I had a trimicular foot injury on my good foot, they had to call the ambulance out to the field, then the guy which I assisted in the field told he was not aware of my injury. He then began yelling at me! why I didn't tell him about my restrictions, in front of safety & rescue team which were assisting me on the ambulance stretcher. Making the story short. I had surgery, my employer wanted me to come back to work after two weeks of rest after sugery, because they had lots of work at OUR OFFICE. 4 weeks later, they told me they had no more work for me, so I was LAID OFF from work. Because they knew they weren't making any money me being at OUR OFFICE, so they couldn't charge our customer $175 per hr. so they were loosing money, me not being at customers jobsite. Layed off with no workmans comp. because I didn't follow Dr's orders. Know I have a very noticeable gait. My foot restricts me from lots of activities. I don't have the same flexibility anymore.

I had a 4 hour interview last week, 4 hours why?? it was a group of 12 people who interviewed with 3 supervisors. it went well.. I received an offer from the headhunter who sent me on the interview on Tuesday Yipeee.. I had a conversation with the account manager for this firm, and she was sending me documentation etc... So I was to have received docs for taking a drug test in my area, nothing received by the end of Tuesday... Wednesday right before noon, I got a call from the recruiter, that they cancelled the job, and the ticket has been closed. Now a friend sent me a link that this company is hiring. If I apply, is that a breach of the head hunter contract??? Can I still apply directly???
