As news of promising vaccines are being developed to combat against the coronavirus [many employers are starting to ask employment lawyers if they can make it mandatory for their employees to be vaccinated.

What do you think? Should employers be allowed to make vaccination against Covid-19 mandatory for employment?

I think this is going to be a huge point going forward!! A company can be shut down if their employees test positive, causing a financial burden, but we don’t know the long term effects of this virus, let alone the affects of the vaccine!! If we couldn’t defeat it with normal practices, one must ask what will happen years from now!!!🤦‍♂️

With cases continuing to climb rapidly at over 4K a day, LA county announced a 3-week stay at home order. Businesses occupancy limits now stand at 35% for essential retail; 20% for non-essential retail like outdoor malls, as well as for personal care services and libraries; 50% for fitness centers operating outdoors, as well as museums, galleries, zoos and aquariums and other recreational businesses like batting cages. Cardrooms will now be closed as well.

How will the new order impact you in LA? If you're not in LA how would a stay-at-home order affect your job or job search at the moment?

I saw on the news today that the spiking cases in Covid-19 in LA County has the government considering another Stay-at-home order and shutdown.

How would another shutdown affect you? Are they considering something similar where you live?

As cases of COVID continue to rise businesses are feeling the impact as the state is again being shut down.

The governor reported that “California is experiencing the fastest increase in cases we have seen yet — faster than what we experienced at the outset of the pandemic or even this summer.”

California will halt its reopening plans and put almost all of the state back under the strictest set of rules that halt indoor worship and force most indoor businesses to close or operate at a fraction of their capacity. Most schools will remain closed, including the nation’s second-largest school district in Los Angeles.

More than 11 million cases have been recorded nationwide as the virus surges almost everywhere. While California accounts for more than 1 million cases — the second-highest number in the U.S.

Jobs will most certainly be impacted as the future of small businesses ride the unsteady wave of these unprecedented times.

Do you think shutting a state down is the best approach?
