Teaching patients to perform home hemodialysis.

I loved the flexibilty. I loved that instead of my fiance coming home feeling drained from the clinic he actually still felt good after dialyzing at home. I loved the experience it gave me so that I would want to pursue it as a career.

For the patients and learning about kidney failure and what causes one to possibly encounter kidney disease. You honestly learn something new about dialysis everyday. Everyday is not the same. You will grow to adore the patients. Listen to their story. Always be a listening ear.

DaVita is all about the bottom line. They will go for months without filling an opening because it increases their profit margin. PCT's are given work loads that make a budget but are not managable. So they have the RNs do PCT work to make up the difference and don't leave RNs time to do their own work. There is no budgeted time for admin work so it is supposed to be worked in with patient care. The environment is dog and dog and management looks the other way. It adds up to a bad deal for the employee and the patient.

I'm always a team player. And I'm very good at my job.

Awful place to work. Unprofessionalism is rampant. Yelling and belittling clients was commom and accepted practice. The nurses were narcissistic assholes who thought the world revolved around them. Safety of client was not important. I wouldnt tske my dog to a davita clinic.
