Not angry, just only end project

The company was conducive, but it got to a point when I needed change my location so I had no alternative than to relocate.

Has anyone used Invision DSM before? Curious what options there are for Design System Managers and any challenges to get people to adopt it within the org.

I’m a graphic artist/cad artist in apparel. Back in the job market after being laid off 2 months ago. I had an interview with a company and they saw my portfolio, we talked my career experience. Didn’t hear from them for a week. The owner contacted me and said he wants to give me a test project to do at home to see if I can do their projects. I said ok. Thinking it would be one assignment. Guy didn’t send the work to me until the evening and said let’s see how fast you can do the work and have it by morning. It was 9 separate art projects which I pulled an all nighter. I sent him the digital cads early the next day ...I still have copies.. and I have not heard one word back. Not a yay or zany. It’s been a full business day. How would a graphic artist know if a company is legit when they say they want to test your ability and speed? Because this is dishonest way to get free work using unsuspecting artists eager to get work.

Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated. I worked for 10 years as a graphic artist in the apparel industry and was recently laid off due to downsizing. Reality is hitting me hard few positions are out there to replace it, as I search. I understand I need to look outside of my circle but how do I create a resume in a field I haven’t worked in but can do. I.E., reception or floor person in a store? The only jobs in my chosen profession was all graphic related though I am capable of doing other forms of work on a resume how can you show that without showing proof I’ve actually worked in that job of reception before. Or floor person?

I have been a Printer for 24 years I can’t do this any more I ain’t happy and it is really messing with my family and home life. I got the wrk ethics but I know I can do so much more working with people not just running machines witch is all I have ever done.I am a real people type person and for the life of me no one will give me a chance. Any advice please.

My advice to people interested in working at #Standardprintworks as a #Largeformatmachineoperator ...
If your thinking about working for this company be patient and always ask for help or just ask if your not sure. A lot of days you will want to just quit but hang in there or if anything ask to sit down and discuss what it is that's bothering you and it will be addressed as best as possible. The owners are very open minded and outgoing people but they are sticklers about the finished product being perfect and there's nothing wrong with that ,its how they stay ahead and have the word of mouth from people that keeps the customers and potential customers coming back. They dont do a lot of advertising , if it were a higher production company I'm sure they would but they are close to there customers ,all of them become good friends so it makes it harder because they always want the best for them . There is no settling for an ok piece of art or whatever for anyone you have good relationships with or you would not have a good relationship. People want the best they can get when they spend there money and you dont want to lose friends . So all in all it's a good job oh one more thing , if your not happy with the amount you make , you have to say something to the owner or it will not change . He is tight but if you deserve more he will make it happen but you will have to squeeze him a bit.

To be completely honest, just don't interview for a job there. I worked for Vivint solar for two and a half years, and I was treated very poorly by the company. They are very dishonest to customers and to their own employees. Dec. 2019 the entire processing department was let go after they were told their jobs were safe by the CEO himself, when the company started outsourcing. I'm glad I got out.
