Ha any minorities ever got hired through aerotech

I was told my lashes yesterday by a girl looked off, and I didn’t check my lashes, so I’m asking her what’s wrong with them and she says they’re low. So she started dragging it asking everyone to show their lashes, so I move away. Yes my lashes that day was horrible, but the I ask someone I thought was a friend at work what was wrong with them, she said nothing. I left the topic alone, So then the girl told me “your friend told me that you think I don’t like you.” Which I really did tell my friend, but besides the point the girl apologize and I drop the topic, but the I’m hearing the topic isn’t dropped and it’s still going and my so called friend was laughing with the girl about me. So clocked out of work I saw my friend, I was with other workers so I called my friend and asked her a quick question about her talking about me, she denies it. I say ok and move on, then the next day of work I’m still hearing about the topic. I heard she made fun of my Muslim name which is “Hawa”,, I don’t understand how it goes from lashes to my name. She calls me wawa. Then topic now becomes bigger than it needs to be. So I got mad and went off and said fuckin Frustrated, and went off but didn’t hit or threaten anyone , I walked off. So I got fired for “aggressive behavior,” but my bullies did not.

Observation has led me to the conclusion that the larger majority on this site are 40 "somethings", or younger. It would be helpful to get insight from younger career oriented individuals on the struggles of those of us who are 55+, trying to re-invent ourselves, (very possibly for the 3rd or 4th time), especially more so it seems for women, and having great difficulty in doing so.
Anyone would think that the job market as it now stands, with more jobs than there are workers, it would make the tasks for senior on the hunt much easier to find employment and new career opportunities; however, many people I know, (and myself included), have, much to our dismay, find that's not the case.
So, anyone have any input, thoughts or opinions on this topic?

I just turned 36 and yes i have been out of work for the past 3 months .. Being a woman in a male-dominated industry can be tough. Only 6% of commercial drivers are female. I've been a driver for over five years and have faced my fair share of sexist comments, but this weekend was a damn tipping point!
I was at a weigh station and was asked to back into a different area while I waited. When I went to back the rig, I heard the guy in the truck next to me blurt out to his buddy Why do women find the need to keep up with men? Pretty women should be at home having babies and curling their hair, not trying to drive trucks!!
I was so ANGRY that I couldn't even say anything in return... where are my women truckers? Anyone else have these issues??

Discrimination at its finest, especially if you didn't get the job

Well I went to an interview with a security company they had contracts with the Federal Government. Now , they had a reserved parking space for me when I arrived. I had an escort to my interview location, so I went to this Interview, not overly dressed. Walked in, the receptionist stated over the intercom that Erica your applicant has arrived. Once she said that everyone that had an office stick their heads out their door to take a look at me. I thought it was quite strange. After a while Erica comes out and approaches me with a look on her face. I said what’s up, ERICA SAYS THEY ARE LOOKING AT HOW BIG YOU ARE IN SIZE. Now I’m not fat I’m 6’1” 1/2, at 330 lbs. I said what’s wrong with that, Erica stayed they hire ppl at a certain weight and height for every site.

I was sexually harassed by my male co-worker of Indian descent and got promoted within the company. I also cannot file for unemployment and also the company is giving me bad references. What can I do?

I have applied for many positions in this field in San Francisco where i reside and can't get the job to save my life. I have applied at various places live Target and Best Buy. never hear from them after i apply. i follow up. I call. never return calls or apply. Why do they do that to people who are dedicated hard working and show up on time everyday for work like me. I'm starting to think that they only hire Caucasian Americans for these top positions as they are the only people i see doing the job when i am in any of the stores. WHY? i have a Certification in professional Audio/ Live Sound and Video from 1996. plus over 20 years experience as a Front of House Engineer and Stage Technician. Have toured with many bands over the years and with all my credentials still can't get the job in my city because of my skin color. And they all say that they are "Equal Opportunity Employers. Bullshit. its Racism and its wrong. they pick and choose who they want for these key positions based on there first and last names or who they are related to in the upper management departments. 90% of those people have no experience in the field whatsoever. i have seen displays in some San Francisco stores that were screwed up and you can tell the person who set them up obviously didn't know what he/she was doing. And i bet you they still are working there. GO FIGURE. All i know is that its not fair. i been applying for these positions when they become available for over 10 plus years and still can't get the job. I really want you to look into this and get me the right answers. PLEASE. Its unfair and its wrong.

My son has an intellectual and severe cognitive disability. When this company hired him, they knew this. The store manager retired after 44 years, and signed another manager.
Today my son went in, he was 15 minutes early, which you would think that would be punctual the manager went and threw a fit over it, demanded that he clocked in, and got verbal with him. My son explained you can't clock in the system won't let you. It won't override it, unless a manager goes through and overrides the cash register that he is on.
My son went out side the store, the manager physically chased him, tried to grab his phone, and tell ME his mom, I advocate for him, because at his age, that's all I can do. He still lives at home, I have a disability myself, and with him and hubby working, it helps out a lot!!! every bit helps out!!! He did his part he called back and demanded to speak to Yasia, yasia went off on him and said you're fired. He asked what reason. She stated for not clocking in 15 minutes early. Why??? the system won't allow it. They only targeted Nate, every one else that WASN'T clocked in was not verbally attacked. That's why I know they attacked him. Karen the manager, has done this now two times.
The first time my son was told that Karen didn't have the authority to fire anyone, so she called Yasia who is now the store manager, over Connie and said you're fired. Nate Demanded to know why he was fired, they refused to tell him. I'm sick and tired of how they target him, anyone else can sit down for 10 minute before they clock in and they don't have an issue. I give up!!! I don't understand how managers can get away with verbal abuse?
The Manager who said that he was fired for not clocking in early, physically made him cry, chased him out of the store, and he had to hide behind the dumpster, to get away from them, so that he would be able to wait for his ride home. She tried to take his cell phone, and said let me TELL WHAT REALLY HAPPENED. This lady is extremely immature. Punctuality is key to most employers, but if the system won't let you clock in, all she had to do was say hey, i'll override it, but she didn't have the authority to do so. So, he wouldn't off gotten paid for that. When someone came and picked him up, he finally calmed down. I know that Ohio is an at will state, but targeting someone that has a disability, this has happened before, per my previous post. What can be done???
He's registered with MRDD, so they provide the transportation. Which is awesome. I am filing a dispute with the labor board, and showing him how to apply for unemployment. I'm also going to HR because this manager has anger management issues, and HR won't do squat about it. If I go to the labor board??? is it possible that they could do something in reference to that??? like say, look at the camera's and see what happened???? They have cameras in the store. And I'm also showing him how to contact the labor board, as well. To see if they are in the right or is he in the wrong??? Please let us know if we have no rights, at all Thanks!!! Please don't be mean, i can't stand it when people pick on people with disabilities. It's not right!!!
