After months of applying and then 3 weeks of background check, drug test, orientation films, and endless emails. I have settled for a dishwashing position. Being 50 years old and in this industry for over 20 years managing and owning my own business this is so disheartening to have to start at the entry level again.I have never worked for such horrible bosses as where I live now. Don't get me wrong I am happy to be working because i know a lot of us are not. My 2 20 year old sons included , but how do you care for a family with that. I see these people that are rude and lazy and have no regard for the Blessing they have to be so high up. Would just like to have some of that again. If not for myself at least my boys how are strong, smart, and honest. Just venting.

I started working at a cafe as a utility person and took care of the salad bar. At times my boss would have me do things that weren't in my job description. I was bumped up to the deli station and now make sandwiches ( I did get a little raise). 1 of my coworkers is supposed to take care of the dishes in the morning and I do the afternoon dishes. It's like I'm doing all the dishes because the morning person doesn't do them they would just put them in water. My boss is still calling me a doshe washer as well and I feel some type of way because I'm the deli worker. My boss still have me do the salad bar at times, and even started me working on the grill yet I don't get paid like the grill cooks. I do everything wash dishes, slice meats, take care of deli, stock things, help with grill cooking, and also the cashier, but the grill cooks only do the grill and get paid more. I feel like I'm being taking advantage of, and underpaid. Is this wrong for my boss to do me like this?
