I’ve been working in the distribution centers sorting area for roughly 24 months now and I’m at the point where I believe that I’ll be unable to continue with this job. I have many years of warehouse experience but I took on this entry level job three years ago after getting laid off and being unemployed for eight months. I’m not a spring chicken anymore so my body can’t seen to adjust to the physical demands of this type of work anymore. I’ve been to the doctor multiple times and all they do is prescribe painkillers that can only lead to more personal problems if I continue to supplement pills to get through the work day. My plan is to give my two weeks notice at the end of the month but I’m concerned about finding another job. What would be another good employment option for a 52 year old worker with a background in manufacturing and warehouse?

FINALLY!!!!! I have a real good job offer with a major distribution company pending my background check but I’m afraid an incident I was involved in 10 years ago is going to show up when they dig into my past. I desperately need to get this job but I don’t want to speak to soon and ruin my opportunity. Should I mention it to the manager now or wait for the results to come back? I don’t want to ruin my opportunity to get the job.
