Honestly the only reason to work for Dollar General is you can move up quickly. Other then that the pay and the company sucks.

Question for Ms Lowe: Why on earth are working for DG then? Sounds to me you are not happy. I am 66 and looking for 20-25 hours a week, hopefully with an hourly pay of $15 an hour.

Well I'll keep it short and to the point. They will work the hell out of you if they need to and forget about ya when they don't. They don't want to pay their employees but the lowest possible. I was pregnant non foods manager and they let me go just before maternity leave was about to start.

Make more money of course, can't survive without it.

As a store manager, I would rather have more time off. Store managers are required to work 6 days a week with, at a bare minimum, 48 hours a week. But they do not give enough hours for hourly paid employees.
