My first day on the job, after an exhaustive job search proved to be a tell as to what I could expect working at this company. I went to lunch outside and sat under a tree digesting the insane amount of info I had been given in the first 4 hours, as well as a sandwich. As I returned to work, the owner, who was training me that first day, came and sat behind me to watch me "drive" the computer during the next phase of training. As he was over my shoulder, I felt something crawl up my shirt and reacted... spasmodically. My boss jumped back, the bug came out of my shirt through.. the trenches if you will. It then flew right at him to which he reacted... spasmodically and we laughed. He handled it in a humorous way without coming down on me for being reactive. We have had a wonderful employee-employer relationship ever since. #funnystory

I heard this podcast on NPR about a man in New Jersey named Louis who made an honest, yet HUGE mistake at work.

You see, Louis cleans people's homes for extra $$. A friend hired him for his services and left their key under the mat for him to enter the home. Angelino found the key alright, but it was the wrong address. 😂

The proper owner came home to discover that someone had broken into the house but at least they left it spotless! 🧼

Have you ever had an "oh no" moment on the job?? Share below!

Every Saturday morning, bright and early at 9:00 (we opened at 9:30), there was this one toy collector who would drive up, take the closest parking spot (which ended up being an expectant mom's spot), and would wait until we opened. Then he would rush in and grab as many things as he could get his hands on. He openly admitted to us that he just bought this stuff to collect, then eventually sell on Ebay for a higher price. It got to the point where he grabbed a hard to find doll in front of this little girl and her mom who wanted it, and told them, TOO bad that's life! The little girl had tears and I wanted to deck this man, but I knew he hadn't technically done anything wrong other than being ungentlemanly.

From that moment on I ended up taking some of the rarer items every morning once we unloaded the truck and stashing them away until he came and left so parents could buy them for their children. We also told him if he wanted to ever park his car in that parking space again he had better be pregnant.

Geez I really will miss it there.

I worked where ever I could! Had 3 kids. This is for those, who need a laugh. I couldn't balance a check book but I went from being a deli employee to a Manager, go figure. I had one interview where he declined the position because he couldn't smoke marijuana on breaks and lunch!?!!! At least he was HONEST. And no he wasn't hired but would have probably been a better employee than most! Pretty Funny!

No one wants to have to answer for inappropriate searches on the company's server, but I had to today. I KNEW it was coming too!!!

A coworker's son has a birthday coming up and she was miffed because she missed the Amazon Prime Day deals. She wanted to get him some rollerblades for street hockey.

We looked at Amazon, then she looked at AcademySports.com and I looked on SportsAuthority.com. We couldn't find any reasonably priced ones, and I suggest we should look on Dicks Sporting Goods. She asked what the site was, and I said, "Probably dicks.com" and I typed it into my browser and hit enter.

Just an FYI, it is NOT dicks.com.

That was an awkward conversation to have with the IT security team.

Anyone that has read my posts know that I have had several jobs over the last 9 months and basically I get a job done then let go....

As we all do we apply to everything and all hours of the night and not really reading/deciphering things right in our heads...

I applied to something months ago and forgot about it until I got an email last week to fill in more information....I get a call for an interview Tuesday and wanted me to come in on Thursday but she said my pay rate wasn't going to happen (I go back and look at the last email...was reasonable and thought not worth my time to go) but I did...

Interview went great until she asked about pay....the application I had wasn't the one she had and basically I had put on the one 4 months ago that I wanted $72 million a year.....OOPS. We had a good laugh about that and she said her and her boss had a good laugh also and was told to call me in....I was told that only 2 people would be called back for a second interview (they have been doing this for months) with the boss and I was called within 20 minutes of leaving that I was one for 2nd interview next week.

Sometimes you make a snafu on things (like I did...not intentionally) but it did get me called in!

Probably the weirdest thing I've seen working for the Restore in my 3 years would probably seeing the director of the Restore coming over on his day off to check on the place wearing bicycle shorts/short shorts. on a old skinny man is not a sight to see... Believe me!#VOMITINSTANTLY

I remember how kids liked singing songs from musicals that they loved. One guy liked to sing a song with a funny voice. It was called "Monotonous Angel". From all songs that I heard it was the funniest.
