Similar to other posts I've seen recently here, I too was let go without much of an explanation and even less Justice. I was a contract employee for Kelly Services which is a headhunting company. I was on contract at General Electric as a financial account analyst. My background is in Hospital medical billing and coding as well as program management; accounting and finance. The requirements for this position were only a high-school diploma and experience with Excel and it's functions; vlookup, sum etc. Within the first four months of employment my immediate supervisor made it very clear she did not personally like me for whatever reason. She attempted to write me up on four occasions all four of which the operations manager decided were bogus and dismissed and decided to have me report directly to herself for the remainder of my employment. Shortly after I was recognized for my hard work by the customer, GE, and asked to join the process Improvement team as a side project. Process Improvement team analyzed assess redesigned and created new training materials, I excelled within my role and truly enjoyed my job. The next year-and-a-half we're quiet it was not until the operations manager announced their retirement that I started to worry, I knew my days were limited if my old supervisor had any say. The following months I was publicly humiliated, ridiculed and belittled in front of fellow coworkers, made to look as if I did not know how to do my job, and was suddenly incompetent a performing my duties. My old supervisor chose to reassign random aspects of my job to fellow co-workers who in turn came to me asking why I wasn't doing my own work... They found it odd being that more than half of these employees I signed my work or ones that I had a hand in training during their onboarding process. At one point my old supervisor chose to verbally reprimand while we were on a conference call with one of the accounts I oversaw oh, she was so loud and her voice filled with such disdain that it drew the attention of my fellow co-workers as well as fellow GE employees. Unbeknownst to me those who heard this Outburst filed a grievance with both Kelly Services and GE HR, a meeting was held and the result was in her being redirected on how to manage employees. I am only aware of the outcome of that meeting because the new operations manager disclose this to me after I attempted to file my grievance with him. In one of the 13 meetings he held to discuss my grievance he disclosed this information regarding this other grievance and said, and I quote " she was reprimanded, she was scolded....she was told dealings with you were inappropriate you got what you wanted what more could you want?". I don't feel I filed my grievance with the correct individual I probably should have filed it higher and with someone who had been with the company longer, but hindsight is always 20/20. In the end, and rebuttal to my filing a grievance my old supervisor submitted her own complaints regarding my performance none of which she could produce any evidence. Ironically I was awarded to Silver gear awards for outstanding customer service by General Electric my last 2 months of employment, during the new operations managers investigation into my grievance. You would think that would be evidence enough for him to decide her allegations to be bogus however it was not. My supervisor worked side-by-side with him his first month showing him all of the ropes explaining how things worked, our process excetera and even though the operations manager made it a point to stress to me during the investigation that they're working closely together would have no effect on his decision... I believe in the end that is exactly what caused my dismissal. That and the operations manager and my old supervisor and learning that I have recorded all 13 of the hour-long meetings in which they both sat across from me interrogating me questioning me, waiting for the opportunity to pounce if I stuttered from nerve, it's laughable really....in one meeting they made it a point to tell me to not feel attacked by their both questioning me... it is hard for me to believe that employment laws and my civil rights weren't trampled during some of these meetings...... in the end I was terminated for working past 5 p.m. and not documenting the additional time or requesting the overtime pay for the additional time... Ironically I never received the money for the overtime that I was fired for working without permission! ** I was an hourly employee however co-employment laws were not strictly adhered to by our management, we were broken down into small groups and each groups supervisor assigned a GE counterpart. The GE employee overseeing my group treating us like equals and granted us special privilege, allowing for us to come in late if we had worked late the night before, or work late if we had left for an appointment during our day excetera. He did not care when the time is made up as long as the job was complete by deadline. If we had inclement weather we would telecommute, working from home on our laptops there never was any formal way of documenting the hours we worked, no time card to punch, no computer program monitoring the time we logged in or off. Up until my termination, every member of my team relished in & respected the privilege. Timekeeping based on an honor System which everyone adhered to.... because it was refreshing to be treated like a professional and an adult. Sadly however that very privelage granted to my team for our hard work was used as a weapon against me and led to my demise. The new operations manager was not aware of the variance in management from Team to team, he was not aware my team in particular been allowed these privileges. My supervisor making it a point to paint a very different picture and with no system in place recording our time in and out it was very difficult to prove her accusations were bogus..... although it should seem like common sense that people don't normally work for free right?! That last meeting in which I was terminated, the operations manager make it a point to remind me multiple times New York state is an at-will state and that he didn't have to provide me an answer as to why I was being but that if I absolutely had to have one then that was the answer oh, I was being terminated for working past 5:00 without my old supervisors knowledge or permission and for not requesting the overtime pay for the hours that I worked. This was the first time in my life that I've ever been terminated from a job and certainly was not what I expected I would ever be terminated for... Going above and beyond for my employer because I love my job!!?? Since then I have found it extremely difficult how to get past first interview with potential employers even with two letters of recommendation specifically from GE employees. Kelly Services lists me as rehireable and states that my contract simply ended. I have applied 2 multiple jobs listed by Kelly Services since and yet over the last 2 years continue to claim they are unable to find any potential jobs, temporary or contract, that I am qualified to perform... I am one semester shy of graduating with my bachelor's degree in Business Administration oh, I mean really! Please, provide feedback? Perhaps I'm too close and can't see the situation for what it really is? Or perhaps I'm dead on the money and experienced an Injustice. All I'm truly concerned about is how to make a comeback now that I have been unemployed for 2 years and have already worked for most of the major companies in my particular area of expertise, in the area in which I live. I'm overqualified for the jobs in which I would NOW gladly accept in order to put food on the table, and I lack the degree for the jobs in which I am qualified and competent to perform making my struggle very real. I'm even willing to relocate out of state to find work. My resume is posted on almost every board and my full-time job the last 15 months has been searching for a job. Any insight, suggestions, or Direction is greatly appreciated!

great managers/ co workers it was always a rewarding pleasure t to help out our customers with technical issues

Curently, GE is subcontracting all the Engineering design, I think it's a mistake.
Each company need to have a strong Engineering designers, to be able to win

Mistake, I don't know, in first we were working in MEA (maghreb, Europe a,d Africa region) the work was correct with France GE company, but after we were affected to Menat region (egyptian), I think that some time i was nice with my egyptian fonctionnel manager. but I thiink for some subject, it was preferable to don't be nice with the up manager

winning new project is very important for me and the team that I was managing

I was managing a team, and my fonctionnel manager (from other countrie) asked to do a work, I asked for Purchase Order.
She said that we have to do the job (answer to a tender in Morroco) (without PO)
I accepted to do the work, I have one or two designers free, and if they win the tender, we will recive a workload?

It's a very ig company with offices in many countries by the world
