Don't pay anyone anything to work. That's a scam!

I just got to California two weeks ago and I am already broke with no income coming in. I've joined AIPG and I've applied to numerous geology related entry level position's and always get told I don't meet all the qualifications.

A little about my me: I graduated university nearly two years ago and stayed in Ohio because I started dating someone. No work in my field could be found, but I stayed for them. In a five day period, three months ago, I lost my home, postal service job and they left me after living together a year.

I decided to do what I planned to do before we had met which was go to California to use my degree, especially since there were far more resources. Now I am applying for anything I can at the moment and letting the career goal job wait as it always seems to have to. After thousands into student loans you'd think I could get something out of that.
