About 30 years ago when I was way younger, I thought I needed the job I got more than anything, the truth is I was living with my parents and probably could have done without this particular job.

I was excited it was One of the first jobs I got on my own, that's probably why I was excited. But then when the manager wasn't there, the guys in the back started. They made lewd remarks, about my body, and what they wanted to do with it. I was terrified and honestly didn't know what to do. In the beginning I thought it was, just a joke. But then they started getting worse and worse with their comments. I also knew, that they were friends with the manager. And their jobs were secure, I was just a low wage worker, easily replaced. Maybe that's why I didn't say anything. The ironic thing is if it happened today, I probably would say something, at least I would hope so. Let this be a cautionary tale to anyone. Report any sexual harassment. It's against the law.

They dont know how to take care of their employees or pay them which is why i left .started out as hourly than went to salary which was a joke cause i could have made more with overtime than come dec 1 since that new law was not going into effect with salary and over time they put me back to hourly which all of our business was in the summer months. Plus if you were not down with the in crowd of upper management you were bullied and singled out til they could fire you or you quit. Brian Townsend was the head and still is the main gm in charge and continues to bully and cause nothing but drama with the peolpe who work there .no one is left but him from the crew thhat reopened the new building 3 years ago

I started with this organization in 2007. The first five years I was harassed by the assistant director, which led to me being out on disability for five months. Finally when I returned to work, her position was eliminated. I transferred to another division in the hospital, after two weeks of working in the new department I was told that all of my time with the company was null and void and I had to start from scratch. This is a union hospital I was told that there was a different union contract between the location I came from and the new location, I was never tols this during the interview or the transitional period. I was left feeling like I am part of a very dishonest organization.

Last week, I was body shamed by a male supervisor while another male supervisor stood in the same room and said nothing. Since day one I have been singled out and judged for the way I look. I cry every day, I have major anxiety just walking up to the building, and I don't even feel comfortable walking as far as the bathroom in fear of being once again humiliated for being proportionately different from what mainstream society may deem as normal for a skinny girl. The head of HR has already voiced she doesn't like me and if I make a complaint it won't be taken seriously, and I believe I will be fired for speaking up. I have battled with anorexia and body dis-morphia through out my life and have worked very hard with counseling to find a place where I was finally okay and happy with myself. Now, all of that progress is gone. I'm back to not eating and feeling ashamed for wanting to look and be healthy. I'm trying desperately to find another job. I don't know how much longer I can take the torture. What do I do? How do I get out of here and back to feeling good about myself?

I'm newly unemployed as of two weeks ago, I had a dream job that I always wanted. And I messed up, I admit it I messed up. But what bothers me most is While I'm taking my lumps, there are people that are still there, that were written up for harassment and sexual harassment, and they're still there. This is a company that prides itself, On claiming to having ethics. That makes no sense to me when you keep people who committed those kinds of crimes. Versus letting people go who actually brought a value to the company.

I left my position as a legal assistant of 18 years in search of "greener pastures" and found a position at another law firm taking less pay upon the promise of an increase in pay after three months of employment. I was also told that because of my extensive legal experience and new attorneys being hired at the firm that I would most likely "move up quickly" in the firm.

My position was primarily performing transcription work for two of the three partners in the firm (working along side of their legal assistants). After less than two months of employment I was given the transcription of the third partner (also, I need to mention that I have Multiple Sclerosis (MS) which for anyone who is unfamiliar is a neurological disease and stress is a huge factor in causing exacerbations, aka, flare ups). After just over three months working there I had a very big MS flare up and was hospitalized for six days because the left side of my body was shutting down and I could barely walk.

After I returned to work I went back to my regular duties and I decided that since my three months had come and gone I would ask for an increase in pay and mentioned that when I was hired I was told that I would receive an evaluation and most likely a raise. I was told by the office manager that she believed no one ever told me that I would receive a performance evaluation and that they "do not give increases after the first three months of hire" and with that, she would have to "speak with the partners" about it. Two weeks later I was told by one of the legal assistants I worked along side of that we were having a meeting in the library in 10 minutes. I was not told why or who would be in attendance. I arrive at the meeting where it was myself, the two assistants I worked along side with and the office manager. They were armed with samples of my work and proceeded to pick me apart "word by word" so to speak. Mind you, when I was hired I was told that my job, specifically was strictly transcription and nothing was ever said about proof reading it and that proofreading was the job of the legal assistants. After the meeting the two legal assistants left and it was just the office manager and myself. She then told me that in light of the meeting and my "performance" that they would not be able to increase my pay but would entertain a re-evaluation in 30 days. During that 30 day time period I was being harassed and pressured daily by the two assistants as well as the office manager. I immediately started "covering my a**" and proofreading my work (even providing the assistants with the document I had "red" marked).

I began to feel overly stressed and was getting a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach pulling into the parking lot every day. My hands and feet became progressively more numb day by day and then my face started to feel numb. That was when I went to the doctor and asked to be taken off of work pending me being able to get a referral and an appointment with a new neurologist. I was taken off work for just over a month before I was able to see the neurologist and when I saw the neurologist he put me on disability for two months.

Here's where my question comes in. After being off work for two weeks my employer sent me a letter saying they had to fill my position and that when I returned they would "find" me a new position, and that my health insurance would only be paid for three months (whether or not I returned to work, I assumed). Mind you, they did not even know how long I was going to be off work at this point. This all happened at the end of September, the letter was dated October 18, 2016, and my health insurance was to be paid through December 31, 2016. My neurologist ended up keeping me on disability an additional month through February 24, 2017, which I did not bother to tell my "employer" about because of an email I received on January 19, 2017, from my "employer", which was merely attaching COBRA paperwork (terminating my health insurance) which stated the qualifying event was "termination of employment" and the effective date December 31, 2016. Now I am trying to apply for unemployment and I explained this entire story to them in my interview (which I had yesterday) and the big question that unemployment asked was "did you contact your employer to ask for your job back"? I told them no, I did not because the job was causing me undue stress.

So, what is the opinion here? Was this wrongful termination? Was I terminated? Was this considered "job abandonment"?

Of all places I work for the government the United States post office of New Jersey it's the worst government company you can ever work for it has a very good benefits but you're pushed to beat that time clock and be back to the office by 6 even though you have double the work every single day and my office has a very high intensity of mail, flyers, packages! Which the packages don't all fit in your truck there's so many in this area so my route was over by an hour I asked everyday to be walked but still they harassed me to get done in 8 hours I was even told by the postmaster Donna that if she walks with me my route would be done in 7 hours Im about 40 to 50 pounds lighter than her I told her I don't think you'd make it and don't get sick either because I had medical issues many doctors documentation stating that I would need extra time on my route never made any accommodations for me but show despair treatment and gave other employees their routes cut and accommodated them she just never liked me from the beginning I was fine at the post office until she came so for a whole year of my life everyday I was harassed and treating garbage yelled at told I was too slow in reference to my age all the stuff almost 4 years of my life struggling to do the best i could at 48 years old! I went to the eeo which is equal employment opportunity you have to call the number in your area someone will call you get your side of story and you need to write everything down and detail dates times everything and then the investigator will call the company and get their side of it and then they come up with a resolution my resolution is I'm going to court I'm just awaiting a court date so they can hear my story in person on the record. I don't care I just want job in the post office even if it's just to be a clerk I want my benefits back for me and my family and if I don't get my job back at least everybody will be on record what they did to me. No job security any more those days are gone!

Hi folks. I am a career sales professional. I've seen the posts by others, and thought I would seek advice. I am a competitive bodybuilder, so by nature, it is difficult to get some clothing to fit properly. I have myet suits , dress shirts and sport coats custom made, but Polo type shirts I buy off the rack. My HR called me into the office one day to tell me that my attire is "offensive and inappropriate" I was told my shirt sleeves are too tight. Mind you, our summer wardrobe calls for "Polo shirts, golf type shirts and slacks" so I was wearing exactly what everyone else was. Many overweight men wear the same shirts, but they are tight in the belly, and they have not be repremanded The C.E.O. then called me into his office, and said I was just "trying to show off (my) your muscles" . This turned into more and more harassment , including disapproval my tailored shirts (" I hate black. Don't wear that again , it looks terrible ") Finally I was again summoned to the CEO, and was told I'm being paid too much, and my contract was torn up, and I was presented with a new offer $36,400 lower. I need the income, so I had to accept. Michigan is an at will state , but does anyone think I may have a case here?
