This is interesting. Does anyone know how employees go about organizing a class action suit against a large company? Sexual harassment in the workplace isn’t so uncommon; especially in highly competitive sales driven businesses but discrimination, verbal, and physical abuse is also on the rise. Too many workers being violated and afraid to speak up out of humiliation and fear of losing their job. I bought my engagement ring at Kay Jewelers. I wish i would have know this before I gave them my business. Shame on you!!

I was subjected to sexual Harassment by two co-workers for the past 6+ months , I tried several times to resolve the matter with them and warned them that if they did not leave me alone that I will file a complaint with management and seek to have the matter addressed...So that is what I have done. Two days later, I have discovered that one of the co-workers was presented with a offer to work in my company's California warehouse for several weeks...He will be provided with a paid airplane ticket, rental car, hotel room, spending money, promotion and higher wages opportunity, and then returned to our NY warehouse. He will be provided with full reimbursement for anything he wants to purchase in California as well .
Am I wrong to see this offer as a reward to him for my Harassment complaint, which is still pending. I was assured by management that corporate takes the complaints of Harassment very serious, yet, they instead reward him with this offer?
Does anyone know of a lawyer In Albany, NY, who will represent me in a lawsuit for this discrimination by my company?

I’m constantly harassed at work. Co-workers and sups are verbally and psychologically abusing me as a tactic to get me to quit. I can’t believe this is happening to me! I reported it to corporate last month and the situation got worse. Unfortunately, this has been going on for the last year and I’m at wits end. The stress is effecting my work performance, personal life, and mental well being. I started looking for another job but haven’t been able to find something suitable enough to make a move. What can I do to fix this without making it worse or losing my job?

I'm in major need of legal advice regarding harassment and bullying in a workplace! I can't go to HR for the fact that it is HR that's the problem.

I have been job searching online, as it seems the only option today. I have had unwarranted harassment and calls from people I have noticed are spammers, obtaining my personal information from job searches! It seems so unfair. I'm such a hard worker and extremely talented but that all seems so lost in translation online. How can I cope in the internet saturated job hunting market without being a target?

Hello,
I am writing to hear ya'll's opinion on next moves. I was inspired to write this after reading a post from another jobcaser who's name I didn't catch, unfortunately. I recently worked for a company Xerox who was contracted with Verizon Wireless. They are guilty of countless acts of oppression not the least of which is hostile work environment. There were several incidents and events with specifics that occurred during the course of my near-year-long employment there. I attempted to address these incidences with HR and with all levels of management, who in the end all proved themselves to be part of the problem. When I was fired for not backing down and for insisting that sexual harassment, mysogny, and racism end in the workplace and that managemen and HR actually do their job I was fired (how surprising). I then went to our Human Rights Commission who did nothing (again, not surprising). The legal aid hotline I called was of no help and neither was the one lawyer I was able to get ahold of - he said they can pretty much do whatever they want b/c Washington has at-will firing law. This seems ill-informed as Washington has labor laws, do we not? The reason I am writing this is because I continue to hear horror stories of unfair firings, the awful treatment of workers (Verizon outside laborers are actually on strike and are standing in solidarity with call center workers) and the daily oppressions that continue to affect countless workers there every day. I really want to see those responsible for this disgusting treatment of people have to be accountable in some way. Does anyone else have an experience like this that ended in a positive solution? Any ideas about where to go next? Thanks in advance and good luck out there, ya'll.....

Dear job chasers Advice? I have several weeks ago filed a hostile / harassment grievance against my direct supervisor, the matter was taken seriously by HR , & they have been investigating. Since then , I feel I have beenr retaileated against. Eg. Small infarction such as a paper being left unattended. Ect. Though , I hadn't been there in12 hours. & anyone could have placed the paper in a no secure area. However, getting to my point , I have found another posistion I feel good about. Today I was asked to come in HR with my supervisor & told I could go ahead & leave now, I didn't need to work my two weeks notice. I will get paid through all my days I was scheduled to work, when I asked " why" the only response was " it's tense ". I did get my supervisor to admit in the presence of HR , it had nothing to do with my work ethic or performance. I'm still shocked! It was NOT a termination. & I have that in writing. I just feel it's punitive. & told them so. I have been an excellent employee who has been at this company for over 8 years with excellent work reviews. Is this a common practice ? I felt like I was being fired Thanks for any comments or advise.

I worked for a medium sized university and went thru 4 supervisors in a year. I got excellent reviewers each time. When my 5th supervisor came on board, she started bullying me. I complained to,HR and in three months' time, was fired. What should i have done different? I tried a private audience with her, then with her and our boss to no avail.

My son just started a job at CVS under their 45 day program for new hires. I was under the impression that this company is a professional based business especially with the intense paperwork he had to read and sign which went over with great details on all rules and regulations something expected in today's world. After his first day of 8 hour of just paperwork orientation, he started the on-job training on an overnight shift to learn cashiering, stocking and floor presentation. Besides being left on his own after a few basic presentation, the following occurred, he was not punched in until 2:30 am after starting at 10 pm and only because he needed the assistance of the person who was training him to ring out an individual, second he was told because he was a management person he was not entitled to any breaks period except for one bathroom break and at end of scheduled shift he was told he could' t leave because again as a management person he had to work until all jobs were done for the shift (he received no list of jobs needed for shift either.). I strongly believe this was a case of harassment by the employees of that shift to get him to quit. What is the best possible approach to this situation?
