It’s February and another month has come to pass. As we head into the second month of 2020 are you letting things slip away? Sometimes we get caught up in the little things and miss the bigger things in our life. What can we do to overcome the past? Start each day with I Can instead of I Can’t, take time to appreciate yourself and know you are worthy. We can start by doing one good thing for another each day. A simple task as in Say Hello toa stranger, tell someone you appreciate them. They are many simple thing you can do to make it a better day. In the morning while going to the gas station or coffee shop, I try to use a simple task to make it a better day. Most recently while at Cumberland Farms getting my coffee, four people behind me and I was standing in line to pay for our coffee. Just as I am starting my day here I am standing in a big line. The folks behind me were getting impatient as I was waiting to pay. My choices were put the coffee down and leave or strike up a conversation? I asked the person behind me how there morning was going? She said better if this line would move? By this time the cashier said next? While paying for my coffee I told the cashier to add the 4 people’s coffees to me? The cashier looked back at the four customers and said you are all set? They were confused but happy to leave. I noticed them while walking out the door all smiling. Simple task make simple smiles! Have a Happy Tuesday!
Yes, the Jobcase community offers support, advice, guidance, encouragement, concern, and many other important things. Networking is important, and that person you met may help you some way in the near future. If you think the employer would better appreciate a handwritten note, send one, but also send emails to everyone as well. Avoid copying and pasting the same generic email in your thank you! Just as you would write a custom cover letter, do the same with your thank you note. Be specific to the company as possible and mention somethings you spoke about that really stood out to you and to the employer. This will personalize the thank you.

One of the biggest mistakes job seekers make during a job fair is not giving out their resume until the end of a meeting. The employer may have gotten interrupted or moved on to someone else. Instead, as you speak about yourself, hand your resume to the employer, and point out the areas that support what you’re saying. This will draw his/her attention to your resume and make you stand out from the other faces at the table.

When dealing in the health care field with people that are already upset or confused on the purpose of them being there in the 1st place, it's important to remain calm , try and smile and suggest any other alternative to resolving their situation. You can't always please everyone but it's important to try. If the individual is disgruntled, sometimes all that is needed is some space.
