I was hired for a job, and when filling out the background check waiver, I was asked if I had been convicted within the last year. Which I had not, it’s been 15 years. After the background check was conducted, the job offer was rescinded, and I was told even though it only asked for a year , they run a 10 year check anyway. Can they do this?

I finally got word today TSA approved me for my HM, Now the test!! studied for mo. I got this GREAT NWS ON MY WAY yippppp!!

Finally got a job am okay with. Good overtime

I have been reading here on Jobcase that sometimes we have to take a job that may not be what we wanted, but it is what we need right now. My daughter is the only one working. We are in a real financial tight spot. I have been applying online only to be ignored or ghosted. A few days ago I drove by a business where I used to work. They were hiring. I went in today and got immediately hired! Even if it is cold calling to set appointments and I really didn't want to do phone work, it is a paycheck with the opportunity to earn commissions! Thank you, Lord, and bless my fellow Jobcasers!

Got a job love the people working there worked fo four days and then was told to take a couple days off is that normal to do at a new job let me now

A few weeks ago, probably around a month or so ago, I was hired. However, I have not heard about when I am scheduled to come in or when I should start working. I think I was hired in September. I completed my background check and paperwork. I even went through training and got the uniforms for work a few weeks ago.
I've been trying to contact HR but I haven't had much luck. Should I drop by and ask? I'm afraid that I might come off as too clingy and then they won't want me to work there. I am also afraid that I ended up being a no show because they scheduled me for work but I didn't receive the schedule. This is a place I wanted to work at since I was a child. Should I just continue to wait? #hired #joboffer #startdate
UPDATE: I got a schedule! Thanks for all the advice everyone. I really appreciate it.

Needed to supplement my Teacher Assistant job for the school system and found an Amazon gig (seasonal/part-time!) $18/hr shift differential (working nights over the weekend)
Very excited! Thankful for this community

I was offered a job as a Welder/Fitter at Siemens Mobilty AG. I took the offer and got all my tests done and passed, drug screen, vision, hearing and soforth. I was told I was to start on 11/4. Now they say 11/11. I have a felony conviction on my record. My question is can they disqualify you for a felony conviction. I thought in CA you can't be turned away for any convictions felony or misdemeanor. Just wondering what everyone thinks.

I applied to TTEC or TelTech in September, got the job a week after I applied. Fast forward it’s November and I haven’t heard anything. Is that common for anyone doing work at home at all? I emailed the hiring manager two weeks ago about it and I haven’t heard anything back. Should I email again or just wait it out. Almost 2 months ago with no word or notification is pretty ridiculous. I got no timeline, I also missed out on a different work at home job holding out for this one.

I just I just turned 57 and decided to walk out of my job. The place I worked treated people like crap they didn't pay unless you were family and anyone started got the worst jobs in pretty much were made to stay there making nothing or quit I've never left a job in my life I finally couldn't take it anymore. the deer walked out I thought was the best day of my life well it's been 4 months I'm looking, being depressed, I'm trying to survive I finally turned the corner this week head for good interviews two offers and this received a third that is going to pretty much put me better than I've ever been in my life all I want to say is never quit just keep looking to stay happy and rely on your friends. Keep your spirits up, keep looking, and call me I'm in charge of hiring for new company and give me a month to get settled you give me a call I'll talk to you have a wonderful day move on.
