I just wanted to share my horror story. I excepted a position at a very well-known company and was to be relocating to start this position. I was hired in September. I was to start my new position close to the end of January, so it took some time for me to find a place but I did it was way more in rent but couldn’t find anything cheaper in where it was safe and decent. I moved all my stuff out of my apartment on December 29. I quit my job as a teacher because my license is expiring at the end of the school year so I thought that I could start my new venture and secure my future. the same exact day that I moved to this other city which was December 29th they told me that my start date was delayed until July. . they offered a lump sum that has put me in a bind, because I have no money now after paying a few months rent and some Other bills. I have been applying for a plethora of jobs and have not gotten any luck in this new city. I uproot my whole life and my security, and no one at this company cared. No one would help me, and I have had to suffer through this and still have a couple more months to go in hopes that they actually start me on that start date. They have put me in poverty I’ve had to reach out for assistance and haven’t had to do that before because I was a teacher and had a steady income. I have suffered ….but I don’t ever give up! #delayed #startdate #relocation #InARut #dissapointment #determination #work

Hello I recently received a job offer for Mail Handler at the USPS. I did my fingerprints and background check requirements; how long does it typically take to start work? #backgroundcheck #fingerprints #USPS #startdate

A few weeks ago, probably around a month or so ago, I was hired. However, I have not heard about when I am scheduled to come in or when I should start working. I think I was hired in September. I completed my background check and paperwork. I even went through training and got the uniforms for work a few weeks ago.

I've been trying to contact HR but I haven't had much luck. Should I drop by and ask? I'm afraid that I might come off as too clingy and then they won't want me to work there. I am also afraid that I ended up being a no show because they scheduled me for work but I didn't receive the schedule. This is a place I wanted to work at since I was a child. Should I just continue to wait? #hired #joboffer #startdate

UPDATE: I got a schedule! Thanks for all the advice everyone. I really appreciate it.
