So I am taking a year off from college since I am not sure what I want to do with my career. I’m in some debt and received a food delivery job where I am averaging $15 an hour. I love it. I am over customer service jobs as I been doing it for 10 years. I’m 28 and thinking of getting a CDL liscense to get a truck driver job :) I realized I’m not into office jobs and love driving jobs :)

So I just took a leap of faith and moved from a small town to large city. The move was well needed. Anyways I applied to many places before I came up in hopes to have a job ready for me when I came. I had 3 interviews lined up for my first week, and all on the same day. I went to the 1st one and the interview seemed to went well. However as I watch the staff I would be working with no one had a smile and all look real unhappy. I then go to my next Interview the Interview went well because I was offered the job during the interview and I took it. The pay was fare. I than messaged the 3rd Interview to tell them I was offered a job somewhere else and I would not be coming for the interview and thanked them for taking the time to scaled a interview. Two days went by and the 1st interview contacts me and offer me the same job as the one I took but for $1/hour more than I was offered from the job I took. So after considering the offer and I decided to turn the higher paying job down. Solely based on the fact the staff all seemed nerviness and unhappy. I have been at the lower paying job for 1 week now and I Like the job and all the people I have meat working so far.
Do you think taking the lower paying job was a good Idea?
When my 30 day comes the manager will review my work and stuff and I know I am doing great everyone around has told me so. Should I ask for the $1/hour more and use the messages between me and the Higher paying manager as leverage to get the extra $1/hour from my current job?

I received and accepted a position with a really good company, job A. I am supposed to start in a few days. After accepting this position, I was contacted by a company I had previously applied to, job B. I did a phone interview, they immediately had me come in for an in-person interview, went great. I received a follow-up call making sure I was still interested and letting me know they were. I should find out by Wednesday if they will make me an offer. Job B is an international company, better pay, better benefits, more aligned to want I want to do, and more of a final career position. I have watched for the right position to come available in my area with this company for 2 years. I don't want to drop job A in case B don't come through, otherwise, I want job A. I hate to put company A in this possible position but ...... Advice? If I get offered job B, how do I back out of job A, especially after already started?

I had what was suppose to be a group interview last week. I was the only one that showed up! { I had been to one other group interview and it didn't go well, i blame the interviewer not me and others.} Anyway, I got a phone call and they are hiring me and gave me dates for new employee orientation. I am still waiting on letter of employment. So heck I wont ever turn down a group interview again!

I have tried since june when i just graduated and i started giving up in july when i went to interview after interview and to top it off i just moved here and dont know anyone. So I am bringing this to open hearted thank you for giving me places where i should work and would bring me you comfort and happiness.

Today I got hired at a great Hosptital with excellent pay and benefits. It has been a long journey of interviews knowing I slammed the interviews, but still got no replies. It was difficult knowing that you have 20+ people applying for 4 positions. I'm so very greatful and thankful God has elevated me to receive a blessing only he can give.

I’m a single mother of two with no family at all and a mortgage... I stepped out on faith due to a daily 98 mile round trip commute. I went on LOA in hopes to find a position near my new home that I bought last year. It took almost 4 months and I thought I was going to have to take a big pay cut but God said no you don’t my child. I got exactly what I wanted... $30 an hour with a 15 mile commute. Praise God!!!! Thank you so much for this blessing, now I have more time to spend in my new home with my beautiful children

I applied for a job and Im not sure I want it. I'm waiting for a better offer that allows me to still take care of my parents. The job i applied for just called and Im still not sure. Should I take it for now? When and if I get the other job I applied for how do I then gracefully quit this job?

As per my previous post most can tell I have been caught in that oh so lovely spot of traveling from one dead end job to another. Like most of us that I’ve read about on this site the only way to score if not the job you want a job in general is to really hit the pavement so to speak and submit, submit, submit. Upon doing just that I successfully got interviews to the the two top paying jobs I had hoped for. The issue here is they were on the SAME DAY. Now generally speaking that’s not necessarily a bad thing however in the long run my main problem I’d tried to avoid came true. I got a job offer from both and had limited time to make a decision. One is not going to wait for the other simply because I need time to weigh out my options. I ended up turning down the less paying of the two an proceeded with the other even though I’ve not fully completed the process. I am very confident I will get this job but now idk of I’ve completely burned the other bridge just because I declined the offer. There are no guarantees so I hope to hell I picked the right one...

I found a job by telling the employer, after the first interview, that I was going fishing. That seemed to impress them so they made a good offer. It does require relocating and relo was on the table.
