Hey guys, just joined the group. I've applied yesterday for a stocking position at my local home depot. Since i was young I've always enjoyed the smell of home depot. Anyway i just wanted some info on how the environment would be like if i get the job. Looks great so far.

I was employed by the home depot for 2 years and loved my job. I enjoyed my customers and talking with prople from all walks of life. One day i got called to hardware and as i approached 2 african american women one of them was tying a rope around her neck. I jokingly asked " are you making a noose?" Well it clearly and clearl was not humerous to her and she was immediately offended, i apologized to her and explained i meant no harm. She went straight to the top and within 30 minutes management had to let me go. Sadly, I lost my job that day. In the 2 years i worked there i never once had an altercation with anyone. My customers loved me. I received numerous awards for ourstanding customer service. I never missed a day of work nor was i ever late. I was a dedicated employee. I feel they could could of at least given me a reprimand, but fire me? Friends and family tell me to seek legal advice....

It's a great job but I did not realize that I'm not actually an employee OF H.D. I'm sub-contracted through a hiring company. I do not get the same pay, benefits, etc.

I have an interview coming up for Home Depot it's tomorrow is there anything i should research or know before i go in?

I work in the hardware department at home depot and it’s usually pretty stressful. Tons of customers with unclear questions can get really frustrating after awhile. Plus its a nightmare to go on break because I have to work thru other departments and always get stopped to ask questions on things i don’t know much about and can’t leave them until I find someone who can help them.. Anyway I love when people bring in their dogs! Being able to relieve stress at work with fluffy dogs is amazing and makes work so much better.. So if you have a good dog please bring them in to make your local home depot and make their employees day!!
