Is it just me or a lot these that pay entry level jobs that little over minimum wage and required a college degree or work experience for a job that would require one to be paid many times over what they’re offering basic entry level around where I live in Portland Oregon When Job hunting; I was looking a a job couldn’t really don’t remember what job it was a fairly job simple desk job entry level that paid minimum wage and it said required previous desk job. How is anyone suppose to have experience don’t give anyone without experience a chance? And I keeping seeing a lot of places with entry level jobs requiring you Have prior experience for in that job for job. It like having mandatory requirement For cash register person to have prior experience with being cash register. I.e the only experience I would think on top my head. I feel very desperate, depressed and hopeless; I have survived a brain a infection at least year ago and I need job to support myself.

Hi! My name is corin! I am 36 years old and currently single , and still live at home with my mom and my bro jay. He’s a mechanical engineer And makes good money and mom is retired at 72. From 2003-February 2019 I worked at a local hospital in their kitchen . Started out part time and after 5 years I went full time . I loved my job and was there 16 years. I was making 995 every two weeks. Anyhow around 27th of February 2019 I had an unfortunate happening due to our extreme short staffing we been having for a long time and due to that we all doing zillion things at once and it gets pretty stressful at times . Anyhow I was voluntarily terminated on 27. Well as of May 13,2019 I landed a job with my local school district in their cafeterias as a substitute. I was really liking it and now I’m a permanent cafeteria worker in one elementary school in the district . It’s 10 am-2 pm Monday thru Friday and that’s only 4 hours a day making 190.00-205.00 a week and I love my job and where I work and my co workers and manger as well as our director . Anyhow I do miss the bigger amount of money I was making at hospital kitchen job. This job does not give me insurance so I’ve gotten state insurance. This job is a lot closer than my hospital job but way less stress and less demanding. I love not having to work any weekends at all .. hospital I worked every other weekend. I love having summers off and in Massachusetts where I am I was told by ladies o work with that school cafeteria workers can collect unemployment from the state . Should I forgo a job I love, with co workers and bosses I love, hours and days I love and job that I feel totally comfortable and confident in just to make more money and live comfortably? What do you suggest here? Thank you very much and hope you have a lovely day! Sincerely, Corin Szostek

After months and months of endless applications, finally a job. Is it my dream job, no, but it will pay my bills, put money in my pocket and help me feel normal again. It was absolutely depressing getting up every day jobless, with bills adding up and not knowing when it was going to change. So, to all of you that are stuck in the struggle, hang in there and remember, this to shall pass.

So recently I was told that I'm being looked at as a new manager. Now this all sounds great considering I'm a driver right now making minimum wage which is like $8.50 an hour. Plus tips which on a normal day is around $45-50. Now as a manager I'd be making $12 an hour working a potential 40 hours a week. Right now I have just under 35 and last week I worked 52 hours. My income monthly is around $1600 but I dont want to stay a driver for long cause its putting wear and tear on my car, plus I'm filling up on gas twice a week. Which is about $25 - 50 depending on how much I drive. As a manager I'd be losing a bit of income but I'd be gaining health insurance. Should I continue to go for management or should I stay as a driver?
