I am completely fed up. I have not given up finding a job. I am a single Mom of 2 kids, applied for multiple jobs and have gotten interviews, just no jobs yet. I'm at my wits end. I bought a house, got a new car and lost my job. I don't know what to do anymore. I am available to work Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. Help, I need advice.

So at only 35yrs old I have afib and have had 4 cardio ablations in the lat 2 years. I had an amazing job that I loved and was great at! The pay was also amazing. Unfortunately it stayed between 100 to 140 degrees with high humidity at all times. I was forced by my doctor to quit.... she said quit or die were my options. I was hysterical and cried for about 2 months. Now I'm working at a place I really enjoy and see myself having a real future at, my bosses are blown away by my work ethic. I learn every station in less than a day, never miss and never late. The problem is I was barely getting bills paid due to this job paying 7$ less an hour, then I get a garnishment for medical bills, not to mention this being the slow season at my new job so hours have been cut to less than 30 a week... I am completely desperate for advice or help on how I can find side work or even a second job that will work around the schedule of my current job. I don't want to lose this job because in 2 years I'll be back to making 18$ an hour if not more. However if I lose my house and vehicle in the process what would the point be? Any advice or help is greatly appreciated. I have lots of experience in several different areas, and I take pride in working twice as hard as the next guy. I actually enjoy hard labor, it gives me a sense of accomplishment. Thank you for letting me vent.

I have not had a full time job in a year now. Because I can only get work through staffing agencies I have lost everything because they have been low paying short term contracts. I even lost my apartment. My family refused to help which changed my life just when I needed help the most. They won't call or anything just because I needed help. I had to get help from strangers. I have never been in this position before and I don't know how to handle it mentally. I have a college and years of experience in finance. My downfall in life has been working in the mortgage industry and I have been trying to get out. I have been trying to keep my faith but its hard when your immediate family turns their back on you. I told them its like you are watching me drown and refuse to give me rope. They tell me that they love me but I told them they really don't. I really don't know what to do at this point. There is just a big question mark over my life now. I am still trying to remain positive but have no clue. Any suggestions?

After 8 months of applying to a lot of Admin positions I finally got a job! I was so excited. It's in a great area where I wanted to work for a long time. I'm so thankful and grateful for this job. God is good always. I was down to my last of everything and owed all my credit cards and bills. Before I landed this job I was homeless due to an amazing set of circumstances that I won't go into. Now you can understand how desperate I was for a job. However, since I've gotten the job which was in March, I've moved into a new apartment, caught up on some of my bills (not all and still have a long ways to go) and even managed to start a little savings account. Herein lies the problem. I'm totally and unequivocally unhappy in this new job. The job is great and my responsibilities are challenging but manageable. I started off working for 7 people and now I work for 12 people and with the same salary which is not much. However, the problem is my colleagues. They have their "clicks" and it's very uncomfortable. If I ask for any kind of help with a program or assignment, they go to the boss and tell him that I don't know what I'm doing. I try to join conversations, to no avail. I try to show myself friendly to no avail. I'm excluded from conversations (especially non-work related) there was a company outing and I went and boy did I regret it. We weren't allowed to bring anyone so I spent the time by myself. How embarrassing. No one even talked to me. When I tried to talk to them they were polite but made it clear they weren't interested in talking to me. I was in the bathroom and overheard the other Admins talking about me saying I'm not friendly and I don't talk to them! I'm at my wits end. I didn't get a job to make friends but it would be nice to have at least 1 person in my corner. I don't know what I did or didn't do. It's so uncomfortable that I'm seriously thinking of leaving but just can't afford to. Any advice?????

I've sent out at LEAST 100 applications. If had 4 interviews all saying they've decided to go with other candidates. 30 emails saying the same thing or close to it. I haven't worked in 3 weeks. I can't pay my rent. My phone is going to be shut off in 15 days. I'm literally losing my mind. I'm depressed. I'm angry. I'm resentful. I'm just done. How do you put out that many applications and no one wants to hire you?

I have been in so many jobs in which I have struggled to be fast enough, and to handle many things which are coming at me rapidly, to maintain my physical energy throughout the workday, etc. I do everything I can to be healthy and alert for my jobs (Public Librarianship from 2005-2015, and now child care). There are no "simple jobs" these days, with the possible exception of retail or cleaning hotel rooms or offices, and they don't pay a living wage, plus I would need to have some sort of accommodation (ADA, perhaps) because every joint in my body aches if I'm on my feet for more than an hour or two. I often have my confidence shaken when I find myself struggling to meet the expectations of my employees. I can't very well admit that the job is difficult or I'd be out of work and living below the poverty level - I mean I realize that nobody owes me a job or a living, but can you blame me for not wanting to be homeless? I always do my best. What can I do except keep trying to be faster and to stay calmer,( even when I get harsh criticism, sometimes regularly). I'm writing this post after having read, and identified with some of the posts below, about having co-workers who are bullies, or being repeatedly expected to help with "teamwork" when I am struggling to get my own work done, and am afraid to admit I'm having difficulty with that. Help please?
