Today’s prompt word for #Inktober is #expensive. I initially struggled with that word until I had to go to a nearby #gasstation so I could fill my #car up with more #gas. I experienced sticker shock at how expensive gas has gotten per gallon and, in the process, I got my inspiration for how I was going to deal with today’s prompt word. #petrol #drawing #servicestation #Inktober2018

Today’s prompt word for #Inktober is #drain. The only thing I could think of was this classic #1980s era #arcade #game called #Bubbles, where you had to guide a #bubble around a sink while cleaning up dirty spots and ants. The more dirty spots and ants it picked up, the larger your bubble will grow and it will eventually get a face as well. Meanwhile you had to make sure that your bubble dodges cockroaches, scrubbing brushes, and a razor blade because if you touch any of them, your bubble would burst and you would lose a life. Once your bubble reaches a certain size, you can guide it towards the drain where you would go down the drain and onto the next level. It’s definitely one of the wackier games I’ve played. I vaguely remember playing this game back in the arcades but I’m not 100% sure. (I’ve played so many arcade #videogames back in the 1980s that it can be a bit challenging trying to remember them all.) I currently have this game on the Midway Arcade Treasures compilation disc for the Playstation 2 and it’s definitely a hoot playing it. #Inktober2018 #drawing

Today’s prompt word for #Inktober is #breakable. This was yet another prompt that I struggled with and, in some ways, I struggled with this one the most. It wasn’t until I had a mishap in my kitchen that I finally came up with something that I could use to illustrate that prompt word—a broken #egg. (I accidentally dropped a few eggs on the floor, which created a gooey mess that I had to immediately clean up.) #Inktober2018 #drawing

Today’s prompt word for #Inktober is #scorched. The only thing I could think of #drawing was a fire-breathing #dragon setting a #house on #fire, thus #scorching it. #Inktober2018

Today’s prompt word for #Inktober is #bottle. That one was relatively easy for me compared to the prompts from the last three days. The only challenge was finding a bottle that I wanted to #draw. I finally decided on #drawing this bottle of Delirium Red #Belgian #beer featuring a #pink #elephant #pinkelephant on the label. #Inktober2018

Today’s prompt word for #Inktober is #guarded. I struggled with this prompt word a lot until I thought of the people who guard the #TombOfTheUnknownSoldier at #ArlingtonNationalCemetery so I did this #drawing. #Inktober2018

Today’s prompt word for #Inktober is #whale. I did a few #drawings of #orcas #killerwhales that were based on my photos from my last trip to #SeaWorld in #Orlando back in 2010. #Inktober2018

Today’s prompt word for #Inktober is #flowing. I’ll admit that I struggled a bit with that prompt until I remembered the Scottish princess #Merida and her long, flowing, curly red hair from the #Disney #Pixar movie #Brave. I have a Merida doll that I purchased from the Disney Store a few years ago so I decided to use it as a model. I had laid the doll down flat on her back while I was gathering my pencil, eraser, and sketchbook and I noticed that the way that her hair was spread out looked pretty cool. So I shot a picture of the doll with my smartphone and I did my #drawing based on that photograph. #Inktober2018
