I had taken the government test for a secretarial position while a senior in high school. Didn't think anything about it or that I wouldn't get an interview. A couple of months later, I was interviewed and then hired as a secretary. Thanks to the encouragement from my manager, I started taking accounting classes at night and began my career path toward revenue agent. It had it's downfalls but it was a rewarding career.

I absolutely loved to help taxpayers with their employment tax questions or assigning new employment identification numbers. It was gratifying for me to assist taxpayers with a myriad of concerns pertaining to their own business or an entity they worked for. As a result of my commitment to excellence,I did receive four customer service excellence awards from my operations manager.

I learned the be more aware of time management and to always MULTITASK. You are expected to be at your desk ready to login at 6:00. You must arrive early so you can get through security, walk however many miles to your area, go to restroom, get coffee or whatever else before 6:00 a.m. Same goes for lunch.
