Working at ISN on the DCSA (former OPM; NBIB) program was special and unforgettably a positive experience. We had our trials and tribulations, but worked collectively to resolve issues. Our leaders strove to help people feel safe within the program and industry With that accomplished, we were better able to deal with outside threats.
We challenged standards in this particular industry by actually prioritizing people over numbers, ensuring we were truly transparent, and giving voice to ALL our employees. We challenged our people with attainable incentives, and defined expectations. Everyone actually mattered. The folks selected as supervisors were leaders, not managers. Our "chain of command" was shallow, with employees reporting to only one supervisor and only two humans removed from the CEO. Many companies pay lip service to open door policies. At ISN, this was a working policy.
