#job Director of Engineering - Hartford VT (with relocation)

We are seeking a Director of Engineering for our growing manufacturing client, located near Hartford Vermont. The Engineering Department provides detailed turbomachinery engineering, product design, prototype production, performance testing, and product manufacturing for the Company’s global customer base.

Responsible for directing and coordinating research, design and development activities and components, products, and systems, personally or through subordinate senior staff members in their area of specialty. Assists in the preparation of cost and schedule competitive proposals. Plans and oversees staff, budget and projects for the engineering department.

Must have outstanding communication, presentation, technical and management skills and strong technical knowledge of the turbomachinery industry.

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required. MSME is a plus. Minimum of ten years of industry related leadership experience is required.

Highly competitive salary and benefits package including relocation from within the Continental United States. This role must be on-site. Must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident.

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead the mechanical design group for our client, located near White River Junction, Vermont. (80% technical/20% management)

Responsible for overall management of the mechanical design group. Lead and contribute to mechanical design projects, product development, prototypes and advanced technology. Provide training, coaching and mentoring.

Must have outstanding communication, problem-solving, improving mechanical design and change management skills. Proven track record of managing and leading mechanical design staff. Expert level experience with SolidWorks and working knowledge of SW PDM. Experience with rotating equipment is a plus. Direct experience with GD&T use in complex, tight tolerances assemblies is required. Certification in ASME's GDTP (Y14.5) is preferred.

BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, MSME is preferred and a minimum of seven years of experience in the field of mechanical engineering, specifically product development.
