THIS is a short summary the typical #Walmart #JobApplication and Interview selection process based on my recent Walmart application experience. FIRST Walmart Interview Question I was asked, “Describe a time when I went above and beyond to provide customer service”. It sounds like a standard interview question that you can get away answering with any general customer service experience but Walmart interviewers are looking for a detailed step-by-step account of what YOU did to turn a bad customer experience into an Awesome customer service experience. EXPRESS Yourself clearly at all times and add your personal insight & philosophy on excellent customer service during the interview. Don’t be afraid to inject your thoughts and ideas on what it takes to be a good customer service employee. Remember the Walmart application and Interview process is all about identifying what makes you the best Customer Service candidate. Like helping people? Prove it!! TAKE PERSONAL INVENTORY, Know Thyself, and be ready to explain how you can transition previous job duties and experiences to the task and responsibilities of the Walmart job you're applying for. Example: “I feel that my previous experience as the OSHA Compliance Officer and Inventory Specialist for my department makes me an excellent candidate for the Walmart Overnight Maintenance position. EMPHASIZE your focus on the Big Picture and use career-oriented statements in your questions and answers. The Managers I spoke with began their Walmart Careers at entry level positions like cashiers and quickly promoted to leadership roles from within. Make sure you share your interest to grow within the Walmart Family; but only if it’s Sincere!!

I've read many post from other members about Walmart application concerns and questions so I thought I would quick tips on what helped me get to the Walmart interview phase of the hiring process: A. Complete the Walmart Application & Assessment - The #Walmart #JobApplication is long (about 1hr) so use a lap or desktop instead of your IPhone or Android and have the last 10 years of your Employment History with 3 Professional References ready before you begin. B. Call the Store(s) - call the #Walmart store(s) you applied to directly and ask to speak to the Personnel Manager. Explain you just sent you Walmart application online and you want to verify it was received. Use the time to ask if they're currently hiring and sell your skills, work experience, and qualifications. C. Be Persistent - The Personnel Manager is responsible for setting up the interview with management so make a note of his/her name and check in frequently by calling or personally visiting the store to demonstrate your interest in the job. I applied to 3 stores in Dec/2015 and called all the stores back in mid Jan/2016 to follow-up on my job application but was told they weren’t hiring until Feb. The 2nd week of Feb I got called in for interviews at all three locations and one of the interviews turned into a Service Manager offer. The Walmart job application process to get #hired can be time consuming but rewarding if you’re pursuing a retail career opportunity with Walmart. Good Luck!
