As with most Americans, our hearts go out to Jobcasers, their families, and everyone else in the Houston area as they recover from the floods. We got together at Jobcase the day after and committed to figuring out what we can do to help. We self-fund jobcase (i.e we dont have millions sitting in a bank like fortune 500 companies have) so cutting a big check is hard, but committing our team, technology and efforts is not just easy but a responsibility. So, check out our Help-Houston page at www.jobcase.com/help-houston We put together a neighborhood page that captures the help-houston group conversation AND we put an easy sort function to find all resources for people in houston so that it is easy to find the posts and comments about helpful places to contact. We also called all our employer partners and offered our employment placement services for free for the next couple months. We are hopeful that this focus will make it easier for people and employers alike to get their worklives back on track - so that will free up time and energy to get their homelife fixed up too! We are happy to extend these free placement services to any employer hiring in the Houston area so feel free to send them our way. And if you have other ideas on how we can help - please let us know! Thanks Houston. And.... Stay Safe Florida. We are already prepping for similar help in case Irma hits as bad as it might sound. In meantime, we are praying that Florida avoids the pain and damage that we are reading about from some of these islands!

I have to share that I had the BEST day yesterday. One of the things Jobcase does is we have a group called Jobcase Cares (you can see more about Jobcase Cares on our own company page here www.jobcase.com/c/jobcase-201-broadway-cambridge-ma .
Jobcase Cares repurposes our technology FREELY for non-profits whose mission includes empowering people in their worklives. YouthHub and DSNI serve Opportunity Youth in the Boston area. Jobcase Cares had a bunch of the young folks into our office yesterday to talk about the 'creative economy', tech companies, and career paths that could get you into tech companies. And yes, most of them went down the famous fire-pole in our office! It was a ton of fun to spend time directly with these awesome people and left us inspired about the future and energized to keep evolving Jobcase as a platform of empowerment for every working man and woman's worklife. thought you'd all enjoy a pic of the smiling faces at the end of the day.
Now I gotta get back to work and make sure we keep growing the value here for everyone! Have a great wknd!
