It seems like I can't get the attention of employers that have job openings that are perfect for me.... it's like they are looking for exactly ME but never respond to my resume/ job application. Is my resume not getting thru the computer screening process or is it maybe getting it's format destroyed during submission? Anyone else experience this?

I just recently started my job search and without really trying to, my resume did get posted online for every single recruiter to see out there which I found out has its pros and cons. Some are sending emails from out of state from companies that I never heard of which are basically all the recruiters trying to get people to submit their resumes whether they are actually hold an account with these potential clients or not. Currently, I think it's best to continue the job search on my own as well as with very few selective recruiters only because I notice that there might be as many as 6 different recruiters going for the same company with the same position opening at different hourly rates. Also, it seems like over the last several years, I have been catching companies that are in the middle of making major changes, either closing down or consolidating or even moving out of the local areas. I have family where I am currently living but sometimes it feels like the area is starting to become a ghost town. Even though I will be going on an interview tomorrow for this large international company, I sense that they are not making strides since this particular industry seems to have been on a decline over the last decade. The position is only very temporary as in 3 months tops with a possible extension but the last person who was filling in just left this place for a permanent position. I just recovered from an injury and surgery over this past year and this work looks like if it requires a hard hat, steel toed shoes, and other protective gear, it might not be the best choice. The hourly rate for this contract position is not bad, however, I would be paying for the healthcare insurance outright without aid from the recruitment firm. Another place called who is more familiar with who I am because they have partnered with me before in my last job is interested in speaking with me as well about an opportunity that pays decently for a year and has matched my skill set with what I have been able to work with in the past and it would be more entry level advancement of my career without the risks of having to deal with a more toxic environment that has maybe 3 months. I have a feeling and this is not to discriminate that this other place would want someone that for one thing is not petite in size where it might be challenging at times to lift heavier equipment or walk long distances with heavier equipment. I think they even commented before my phone interview that my resume seemed to be more aligned with another position that I am being called about after this other interview takes place. I've heard it is more male dominant in this particular company that is a questionable state. Every thing I see on line has been about mergers, bought outs, and certain places across the country and outside the US closing in the last several years but not everywhere. Once upon a time it used to be really good but the industry itself they said is not doing so good. I am going to keep looking because it sounds like the last woman who left did so very abruptly to find a permanent position elsewhere. Any input on this? This would be my first face to face interview that I have had this year since the layoff this past summer. The last temp assignment in between did not offer a face to face interview and then the job description turned out to be something different so once that assignment ended, I made a note to myself about that previous recruiter and information on other recruiters that I received from others to be careful with.

i have been getting alot of irrelevant jobs sent to me i am not an RN nore am i a certified nursing assistant or a geriatric aide I am a certified medical assistant which means i work under the doctors license and am certified to work in a doctors office. its so frustrating because there are different certifications and things these job titles cover and the training is totally different. i have been a gna in the past but it has been a long time and i did not keep my registration with the state for this my CMA certification is also good in every state not just the state i curently reside or hold certification. i had to take a national certification test in order to pass and be eligible for work. nurses and certified nursing assistants /cga are only registered to work in the state they practice and work. they have to take a test in each state they live or move to in order to continue working. its frustrating. to get the wrong job listings and a waste of time for me.
