Hello Y'all,
I hope everyone is doing well. I wanted to share:
Yesterday, I interviewed for a position with Bank of America, for a Collections & Recovery Specialist (Business Division.) In the interview the person interviewing me, and I agreed, I was probably over-qualified. However, we discussed the fact that the position is entry-level, it was a way to get my foot in the door. She really liked my experience and told me that after the 6-month contract, you typically get hired and who is to say where I can go. My background is in the legal field and being a corporate/sales software trainer. She mentioned how impressive this was. She is a manager now and told me she started in the same seat I was sitting in and that I would bring a lot to the table for advancement.
I was extended an offer this morning.
Here are the Pro’s:
Pay’s better than unemployment
Job will help fill-in my gap of not working, due to caring for my mom.
Offer’s Overtime/bonuses and the hours are from 11:00 am – 8:00 pm.
This location is one of the Corporate Operations offices and is located 6 MILES away from home!! Living in California, I can tell you this is the closest I have been to home! Usually commutes take about 3 hours a day via car/trains, etc.
Left my company in January to care for my mom, as she became terminal and have been off work since. I have had time to grieve her loss and I can’t help but think, it will do me some good to get back to a work environment and fill my days up once again.
Here are the Con’s:
Pay’s ½ of what I made in my last job. About $30,000 less. (Very discouraging, yet I think I can be frugal and make it until something changes.)
I have about 12 weeks of unemployment left.
The company I interviewed with on 10/31 (healthcare trainer), had to delay the final interviews for this position. I really hope and pray this one will come to me. I was notified I was still being considered and will probably not have the final decision until a few weeks from now.
I will continue to keep looking and trust if nothing else comes through, I will start this new job on 1/7/19 and make the best of it and just believe my journey will improve for the better. I keep landing as the runner-up and I now got to be the number 1 choice.
I'm happy and discouraged about the pay, what a feeling! I have been looking and interviewing and have turned downed low paying jobs. Something told me to accept the offer and trust the process.
Any input is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Cindy

Looking for the Right Fit, many job offers...Looking for a position, at my past level, or close.

I had been looking for a network security position for years

I am a warehouse clerk and never knew I would enjoy it. I pack, pick and process orders. Very new to the working force. I work 2 full time jobs both pay 15 bucks an hour.I started out as a temp worker for both companies who hired me on. However while I was a temp at both companies they offered me a ton of over time and still 80hrs a week 40 at one job 40 at the other job. No benefit but the temp agencies offered insurance. Try them.

So every one knows that I did all my stuff for scanning of the VAs medical records. Had no idea when I would hear or have a start date. So I put in an application at Randstad for a scanner and prep and went in to sign paper work today and waiting for back ground check up. So now I have to jobs to decide on which one to take. One pays for my insurance and pays 2.00 more and for 3 years and the other is a temp job that I pay for my insurance.
So I am just weighting my 2 jobs which would be the best for me. Still no start date on either of them. So it's still a wait and see game . Hoping this is the last week that I will be off work.

I had an interview at Chipotle and I wasn't nerves or anything He hired me shook my hand and said he will be sending me an email for the last hiring step ..I called a few days later and he was gone to nyc on vacation so now im like whats going on...so long story short I have been getting interveiw calls and turning them down cause ai was hired..well a whole two weeks later I finally get in touch with him and he says his manager isn't hiring at the moment..so now I'm pushing these resumes through.God's will I will be getting a call WHEN ONE DOOR CLOSES ONE BIGGER AND BETTER OPENS.

I was offered a job and was told to put 2 weeks in. Now, 2 weeks is passed and the following Monday(today, July 2nd) was supposed to be my start day. However I have been trying to call since last week and sent emails about what time and location do I go for training. I have gotten no response from emails or calls from the hiring manager since a week ago and now am Jobless.
What can I do?

Today I had a phone interview for a position that sounded appealing. When the subject of pay came up, the amount being offered was equal to half of the low end of the amount I had in mind (based on previous employment and cost of living in a big city like Boston.) When asked if I was interested in taking the position at the hourly rate he mentioned, I expressed my gratitude and politely declined. After sharing this experience with two people I trust, I’m doubting my decision and wondering if I made a mistake.

I've been looking for a job for like 3 months now and nothing I've applied in nj because that s where I live and nothing I've applied to ny ct and ma as well because I haven't found anything in nj ..... so I got a job offer thru an agency with liberty mutual in massachusetts the pay is gonna be 14.50 trying to debate weather to take it or not because I've been apartment hunting and everything is expensive I start in april what should I do ?

Does it mean I got the job if I got to go to orientation? But I called the job today they didn't say I was hired but he said I have to go to 2 orientations.
