By walking in to a place where I freaquently went by to buy a smoothie, someone heard me speak English and offered me a job since they were hiring at the time.
Well my friends Jerry roommate took me there and I went through a very long process of filling out tons paper work drug test ect now I've worked five years there everyone is family to me I love the students because there so kind friendly and appreciate our hard work
Found Vista volunteer programs on line applied. Granted interview and flew to LA for training seminar. My app was given to Mercy Health Partners And was selected by food bank administrators as a fund raiser for food bank. Contacted companies on line for donations of products necessary to providing low income families, individuals and seniors. Provided instructions on food safety,food storage and healthy choice receip suggestions. Recorded donated foods and products. Organized community fund raising events as dinners and raffles. Working with other Vista volunteers to catalogue all social services to seniors, families, individuals, homeless, disabled persons available within the community. Monthly progress reporting and Vista meetings. Sharing ideas to improve the quality of service to those who need a helping hand. A wonderful experience fulfilling and uplifting
